Starting Flash player 11.8 and AIR 3.8 beta, we have introduced 4096x4096 texture support in runtimes. Now, we're glad to announce the beta version of new ATF tools to generate the 4096x4096 ATF textures. The ATF format has now changed with the new tools and you will have to use swf-version 21 in your applications, otherwise you will encounter an “Internal Decoding Error”. The new ATFViewer will not be able to render the ATFs created with the previously released ATF Tools (as part of Gaming SDK 1.1). However, the runtime will be able to render both the ATF formats.
Please download the beta ATF tools for Win/Mac from here:
Windows: http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/air/atf_tools_win .zip
Mac: http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/air/atf_tools_mac .zip
ATF tools are not delivered as part of AIR SDK, instead they are included in Adobe Gaming SDK.
Known issues:
Please note that these tools are still in development phase, and may contain bugs. Please report issues to the Gaming SDK forums.
If you're new to ATF tools, you can find additional details in the Introducing compressed textures with the ATF SDK article.
Update 6/17/2013 - We've uploaded platform specific copies of the ATF tools accessible in the links below. There are no functional differences between the initial combined zip and these platform specific zips.
