better placement of curves, levels, and other adjustment tools

When I open one of the adjustment tools, such as curves, etc, it covers up a good portion of the image so I can't really see how my adjustments are being applied. The long rectangular shape is a bit of a pain, at least in the curves menu, as it doesn't let you make very fine adjustments easily.

I'd suggest being able to move the adjustment windows (as you do in PS) to place it off to the side if you need to, and also make at least the curves adjustment more square (again, as in PS), so you can have better control of the adjustments.

Allow brush to be larger than 200 px

It would be good if you could make the maximum size of the brush larger than 200 px. It would be very helpful when you are trying to do adjustments on larger images. The 200 px max. brush gets to be sort of a pain when needing to brush large areas.

Allow PS Touch to work in portrait orientation

It would be good if PS Touch could work in Portrait orientation--not just landscape.

Many of my images are in portrait orientation (taller than wider) and when I work with them in PS Touch on my Nexus 7, they always appear really small. The way around this is to keep them in landscape orientation and work on them there, but that means I'm seeing them sideways, or have to tilt my device to see them fully.

Most other apps work in both orientations and the Nexus 7 default is portrait orientation.

Add more blending mode options

It would be good if PS Touch had more blending mode and filter options. Some to consider adding:

High Pass filter

Luminosity blend mode

Hue blend mode

Soft light blend mode

These are ones I use pretty consisistenly when working in PS on my desktop. It would be good if they were in PS Touch also.

Preserve original EXIF data PLEASE

The original date and time of a photo is very important to some photographers. On the ipad I can import from camera roll to PST, edit my photo, then export back to camera roll so the edited photo can be used elsewhere .... eg a database app. However the original date and time in the exif data is gone when exported !

This must be easy for Adobe to fix, a it simply means to leave the EXIF data alone, rather than edit it ..... And why edit it anyway ?.

Similar apps such as Photogene and Filterstorm leave the EXIF data intact, so why not PST ?

From online Adobe tutorials and discussions it seems that the file saving options in PS Touch are very limited and very frustrating for many people.

I gather Adobe wants us to rely almost exclusively on the 'cloud' to save files in either .psd or the native .psdx format. And even when you save in .jpeg or png formats, you have no options as to where these are saved. All very frustrating.

My suggestion would be that Adobe offer more file saving options: letting us save images in the format we'd like and in whatever location we'd like.

Many of us--for different reasons--want the option to save locally; some examples: we're traveling and don't have access to the cloud, or don't have time to upload at the time we're working on the images, we want to save the images we've worked with on a flash drive or SD card, we or simply don't use the cloud, or use yet another cloud service. These are all valid.

As it is, I'm leaning away from PS touch and toward another app that allows me more options in this regard.

Back in Febuary I asked a question about using photoshop tags to search for photos in photoshop touch. I have had 2 emails since then from Adobe employees suggesting I raise this as an idea, though why they cannot bring it up at an Adobe development meeting themselves is beyond me, so here goes : -

Can you please update Photoshop Touch to include the ability to search for photos via tags created in Photoshop elements.

I really liked the app, I have a galaxy note 10.1 and wish it had an option when using the s-pen to block the palm to avoid unwanted risks. The s-pen could be further exploited allowing different pre-defined traits (mimicking pen, pencil, brush, hatches, blurs etc ...). Congratulations.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 1 & 2 (phone) meets the system requirements but is not currently supported. Users would like to be able to use Adobe PS Touch on this device.

One thing that would really speed things up for me would be a way to quickly change the brush size. Possibly something like clicking the side button on the s-pen while dragging the stylus (similar to the regular Photoshop).

Also, I second the idea of adding more custom brush controls. I don't know how difficult that would be for the tablet version, but for me, custom brushes are my favorite thing about Photoshop.

I'm running PS Touch on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, if that matters.

I just bought a new HTC Evo View and couldnt wait to get into the Adobe Apps. Upon further review Adobe mobile apps wont run on a 7" screen. 1280 x 720 resolution with 32GB memory is perfect for my every use but not Adobe's?

Custom brush and Mapping stylus's button

PST is almost a perfect choice as a digital sketching solution for me but its lack of textured brushes and ease of access (in regards to brush setting only) is a drawback. I really enjoy the diversified brush sets/custom brushes in other apps like procreate, sketchbook or artstudio as they give quite similar experiences I have with the desktop version of PS.

Yet lacking custom brushes is not really a deal-breaker as my sketching process mostly utilize the basic soft/hard round brush, but here goes the second request: to map stylus's button to users' choice of functions, such as brush adjustment (as a right-click in desktop version) or toggling between tools. I understand that the button is currently mapped to color picker, which is really nice indeed, but it can be substitued by holding touch like many of other apps' approach.

I opened 6500x5000 px files into PS Touch in iPad for some minor retouching. PS Touch - without notification - reduced the images to fit within 2048 x 2048 px. It happily let me open these files, work on them and save and never let me know it was reducing the file size, rendering all the work I did utterly useless since 2048x2048 is far too small for print res for these files.

PS Touch needs a notification or warning when importing files larger than the app's max resolution. Resizing files without notification is just asinine.

Touchscreen pressure sensitivity and multi-touch support for Nexus

The Nexus touchscreens have a pressure sensitivity on par with the early Wacoms tablets, but this feature is rarely used. The only app that I have found that uses this pressure sensitivity for drawing is Markers by Daniel Sandler (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dsandler.apps.marker s&hl=en). The current use of Photoshop Touch only allows the use of pressure-sensitive styluses, but the Nexus tablets have this functionality built-in and to such a degree that a separate stylus is not required. I am asking for Adobe to implement touchscreen sensitivity into PS Touch as a supplement pressure sensitivity. It would add greatly to the program's library of tools. Another angle could be developed using another feature of the touchscreen, its ability to determine the size of the touch, allowing for opacity to be commanded through pressure sensitivity and brush size determined by the area of the finger or stylus being pressed on the touchscreen (or vice versa).

In addition, I've seen test software that incorporates mutli-touch drawing as well, with two fingers pressed and released in tandem creating a straight line (similar to shift+left mouse to create straight lines in PS) and three fingers creating curves. This as well would help with drawing and editing with PS Touch on the Nexus.

Adjustable pressure sensitivity

I find that what is lacking in PS Touch, is the option to tweak the pressure sensitivity of the tablet.

I can hardly use the stylus in PS Touch as a "pencil" because it requires me to press relatively hard on the stylus to get broader strokes. This is adversely effecting my accuracy.

The default settings of the app s-note however, are FAR more natural to me.

But, that app lacks other important features, like layers.

It would be VERY helpful, if PS touch could have an option where you can tweak the pressure sensitivity of the tablet.

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to try out for project "KPN Tablet Pilots" #kpntabletpilots by Telecom provider KPN in the Netherlands.

My company, AOP-Creatives, is one of 25 selected to test a tablet in our company's specific field of work and to report our findings. KPN aims to increase their understanding of corporate use of tablets this way.

Since my company is in the creative sector, my main use for this tablet would be to use it as a digital sketch-pad to create my artwork on.

I am now testing out different apps to see which works best, amongst which PS Touch.

It would be great to have a history brush or similar to allow me to paint back in areas I have erased. I know you can use undo but the ability to brush areas back in without being limited to just the last erased section would be a bonus and make life much easier.

It seems that file saving for a 'Photoshop' product is lacking - are there any plans to add options such as compression and file size when an image is saved? It would be great to have more control over the final output file such as a compressed jpg or similar at a quality setting of 7 as an example.

I think it would also be a good idea to have an image properties dialog detailing things like file type, size and dimensions as well as other Exif details.

I like using PS Touch to carefully extract elements from a photo but right now the only option is using the eraser brush in a destructive way.

It would be great to have layer masks so it is non-destructive. These could be used to store selections too for applying effects.

I guess this might be an addition to Photoshop rather than PS Touch, but I thought it might be more useful to post it here. I recentely did a quick sketch in PS Touch and then openned it in Photoshop, only after realizing that I could not go back to PS Touch unless the image was flatted. If Photoshop could retain the same file format(.psdx) then switching back and forth would be seamless. It seams kind of short sighted to think that the workflow would only go in one direction.

The stylus that comes with my Galaxy Note 10.1 now functions as a color picker. But using it is cumbersome and not always delivers the desired result (drawing on the canvas, sudden screencaptures) It would be much more helpful, if the button could be set to toggle between tools of choice.

For instance: the brush and the eraser...

One could then draw fullscreen, switch to eraser to correct, and then back to brush to continue drawing all without ever leaving the fullscreen modus. Just by clicking the stylus button. Of course, it would be helpful if one wouldn't have to touch the screen for the stylusbutton to work. Make it behave like an actual Wacom stylus pen button.

I love photoshop touch so far, but that tiny resolution limit is stopping my from using my tablet the way i want to. i use an DSLR, and i was hoping to be able to put my SD card into my tablet (asus transformer, with sexy dock) and edit my files. as it is, nothing can be opened because my camera spits out 14mp pictures. i understand higher resolutions risk performance, but i want to have the option of doing it, fully aware that things may get a bit slow.

thats my main gripe.

other than that, the brush needs a bit of work. for starters, it crashes whenever i turn on pressure sensitivity. i'd really like a brush that could match the one in sketchbook, but with photoshop touch's clutter free menus.

and maybe a few different brushes... that would be nice. custom brushes would be AMAZING!

Allow support for original iPad just minus function that require the use of the iPad camera. However, you MUST provide support for larger image dimensions. 1600x1600 is just not enough. I import images from my Cannon 5D Mk II in raw, so needs to be way higher than 1600 for me to even think of using this app.

Adobe Product Remote control via tablet interface

I'm sure the idea of using a tablet via wifi, bluetooth or over a the net for controlling certain aspects of programs has popped up in Adobe's head. I use a wacom tablet at work and at home. I also own an Android tablet. One night sitting at my computer I've done what many others have done, I'm sure. Reached up to the screen in an effort to zoom, erase, paint, etc., via multi-touch interface like on the Android/Ipad. So I got the idea of a remote control app for the Android tablet. Most of the controls I've thought about involve Photoshop and Premier Pro. There are even different levels of remote control. One level would be an add on for Photoshop. Where the tablet would be like a mixing table for effects, Hue/Sat, Curves, etc and so on in Photoshop. Unlike actions these would be sliders on the tablet for each adjustment. It would also work on Premier where you could have a mixing wheel for tracking the video fwds and bkwards. There are so many possibilities. The other level would be complete control of a program so you could have the power of the PC, with processor power, abundant ram, and large drive space. The tablet just doesn't have that. I'd love to sit in bed and mark up video clips. Maybe start a batch file from some remove location. I can see it expanding creativity in what I'm doing so I'm sure it could work for others. Any ideas along these lines? I'm not software engineer but I have given some thought to the layout I'd like to see if It were available for Photoshop and Primer. I could create them if there was some interest in this.

Faster browsing of images when importing

When I browse through photos to import into my PS Touch projects, it's somewhat slow and laggy. (By comparison, browsing through Android's Gallery app is like night and day.) It's not game-changing, but I'd love it if I'm allowed to browse with the same speed in PS Touch's UI.

I bought this app so I could digitally scrapbook offline while commuting and never saw anything indicating I had to be online for it to work as described when I purchased it. Thank you!

Would love to see an add noise filter/effect. Right now, I kind of fake it by using the "Grainy Night" filter but I have to pull a little ju-jitsu to get the effect I want (mostly by applying the filter and then blending the desired layers).

This is more urgent than anything. I've just lost 9 hour's work of the short preparation time for my final examination. This might mean that I can't get the education that I hoped for.

I almost had the project finished when the program happened to crash while I was saving, which caused the program to not only delete my recent changes, but when I opened up the image every layer was blank. This could have been avoided if automatic backups to several files had been made once in a while.

Like all others I also often loose smaller changes when the program suddenly crashes, which happens all the time. Sometimes major changes are lost too, as a consequence of the lack of a save button (as also written in another idea). Every time you want to save you have to close the project and wait for it to save, re-open it and wait for that too - the huger the file is the longer waiting time.

Yet another unique way of loosing your work is to switch to another application without saving. You often want to view a browser window, change the music etc. and when you do so it seems that the chance for the program to reset itself is 50/50. So when you switch back and see the Photoshop Touch logo you know that your recent work is lost.

Summing up, these are the important features that are missing:

- Automatic backup to multiple files and/or just autosave

- Fix of the many crashes (happens mostly to large files)

- A simple save button

- Forcing the program to stay open when switching window or just autosave the work before resetting the program
