Exceptional Contributor

Pat Willener photo

Name: Pat Willener
Contributor since: 2008

Pat has been a software engineer for forty years, mostly working with database systems. Now he brings his considerable problem-solving skills to several Adobe forums, including those for Adobe Reader and Flash Player.

For example, earlier this year he solved a case that hinged on Windows registry permission issues. "It took many weeks, and reading through many megabytes of logs from Microsoft Process Monitor," Pat remembers.

Pat has some advice for people needing troubleshooting help: "Many users seem to assume that we automatically know if they are using a Mac, or Windows, or Linux, or Android, or... Or perhaps they don’t think it matters. If the user provides details like operating system, browser, etc. with the first post, then often the user can get a resolution with a single reply."
