In another application I have tried some kind of pressure sensivity that was based on how much of the finger's surface is touching the touchscreen. So when you press harder your finger is flattened against the screen and the surface is increased, and when you just touch the screen lightly it is decreased. If the brush size and transparency could be adjusted by this you suddenly have a built-in Wacom tablet (or close to). This would also be very effective with the use of a stylus, as the soft rubber tip is even more flexible than a finger.
