That was the Canon 70-200, 2.8 lens, pretty much full frame I only cropped about 10% on the right.

That must have been exciting. i have a one legged junco visiting my area. not sure how he lost it,but he seems to manage just fine.

I know there are pintails,but not sure the other. went there saturday and they say approx 180,000 strong at the moment. when the eagle flies over,they all take off for a minute till settling back in.

Here's a hint: the red circles indicate Pintail; the green are a different species. That is early for shooting them.i alway do ring light type flash,but ambient levels are always a bonus for sure.

I left it at a café in Enterprise OR, and didn't even realize it until about 4:30, when I was getting ready to go look for late light imagery. $2000, down the tubes! <br /> <br />Yikes! <br /> <br />I instantly knew where it was, about 6 miles down the road. Haul *** to Enterprise, screech to a stop in front of the café. <br /> <br />It closed at 4PM! Arrrgh! <br /> <br />The business next door was still open, and they kindly made a couple of calls and roused the owner, who graciously also drove 6 miles to get me the camera. <br /> <br />Heading back to Joseph, I saw this, the last legs of a full blown alpenglow, the only light worth while shooting all afternoon. No time even for the tripod, just prop the camera on top the roof of the car and squeeze off a couple. I've never lost a camera, but once during a wedding I took the camera off the tripod during the shoot in the park - and left the tripod there. Would you believe it was still there, standing in the middle of the path, when I returned after the reception 6 hours later at midnight (I didn't realize it was missing until I was packing up after the reception).

You're as lucky to still have the D80, I reckon.

Not really, Fred. I have some 1961 Ektachromes, processed by myself that still read well. Cyan has faded somewhat, but rescuable. Shot with a Rolleicord.

That's a great migration shot, Donald. Do they usually flock in your neighborhood like that? That looks like what you might see at Bosque del Apache.

Thanks. yes they are yearly visitors and the game warden says mild winters have seen the group grow very quickly. now they are hunting them to thin the lot,in the hopes of saving their habitat. i hear they eat roots and all,so are very unwelcome by farmers.

The sound and the wave are very impressive,but there are so many as to make it hard to see anything in a small print except black and white. they crap a lot while flying in mass,and luckily i have not been hit. i think they are here for two more weeks.
