Missing Fonts dialog box keeps popping up looking for a font that is not being used...

Nov 22, 2008 9:54 AM

When I open some of my documents and the "Missing Fonts" dialog box pops up and says that I'm missing a font, lets say, "Arial (TT) Bold" which I do not use in that document, how do I stop that box from popping up every time I open it?

I looked everywhere in the document for that font and it is not there.

Thanks,

Is it in one of your styles?

Sometimes exporting the file as an INX file clears out phantom fonts. Reopen the INX file and see if the message goes away.

I've come across instances where the font is being used in an extra space, for example right after a sentence, which could just be the result of not highlighting the ENTIRE thing when you changed the font to begin with. Zoom way in, then "Find Font" and see if it highlights anything. Also remember it looks for fonts everywhere in the slug area as well as (I believe) anywhere on your pasteboard.
