Wow! those are great, John, the first one is itching for a matte painter to do something science fiction with it.

They actually have contests at www.CGTalk.com for matte painters and are always looking for stunning images.

I've visited the matte painting section at CGTalk and I always leave awed and somewhat depressed.

And BTW, that shot of yours is wildly impressive! Do I see dueling power plants?
(Actually, I see three and I think "duel" implies two. How much power do ya need?)

We have three coal power stations within about 20km's of each other, 2 on the lower part of Lake Macquarie (Eraring and Vales Point) and the one on the right is on a small lake called Lake Mummorah.

You might find this cool than Steve. Not a panorama, but two photos from the top of the crater taken about 5 years apart.

Not sure if I'll be up to in for a third shot.

Struth Phil, that is awesome, the damage from that angle is graphic, you can really get a feel for the size and direction of the explosion.

Re: Panorama
Lot closer you for you John! It was fun, but odd, as it was about 10 degrees when I was there, then later that day I was in Death Valley and it was in the upper 70's.

oh man, naked chicks on your web site! Cool. (Seriously, nice pose of the girl looking down into the water).

=============

Looking at it is even more impressive. When you see how much destruction there was it is surprising there were not more deaths.

The National Geographic that came out after the eruption is a true classic, some amazing photography and the human interest stories made it all so real to me back in 1982?
