    Hi Bob,

If you are talking of the print command in the Print Properties dialog, this has been made uneditable from the 8.1.2 version of linux reader.
The changes to the command can be made only using the dropdowns for the printer properties.

Neverthless, if you want to write your own command, then choose "Custom" in the Printer Name dropdown in the main print dialog. This would allow you to write your command.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Rishi

This (making the print command line un-editable) is really bad idea.
Please, please, revert this in future versions of acroread for Linux.
    Your users are not stupid.

Ot, at least (if you have reason to think that your users are stupid)
add a "expert option"-Button "Make the print command line editable"
    to the printer dialog.

    Meik

    Hello Meik,
The print command-line was made non-editable to avoid confusion and discrepancy with the drop-downs. Are you not able to achieve your purpose by using the "Custom" option in the printers drop-down?

    Sincerely,
    Neha

Why? It was much worse before, since people would edit it, but it had
no effect. This is terrible interface design, and surely this is an
    improvement.

Or an option "Give me an editable area that will be ignored". Why?

It could probably be improved so more people understand that if they
want to print with a custom command line, then they need to choose
Custom. Perhaps best of all would be keeping a custom command for each
printer, or an open ended set of commands (so, for example, two custom
commands for one printer could be stored).

I sometimes print files one sided, sometimes two sided, on different printers, and changing the options on the print command line allowed me to do this easily, particularly as many of the choices I wanted were simply menu choices. With the uneditable print command line, does this mean that I need to create a custom printer for each of these options?

    Hi Winston,

The print command line is made uneditable in the prionter properties dialog. This does not mean that you cannot choose the options provided in the dialog using the dropdowns.

In case of duplex you can very well choose different settings for different printers from the dropdown.

Please let me know in case of any confusion.

    Regards,
    Rishi
