Hi All
I am developing an events calendar and trying to work out if it will be easier for me to try and customise a data grid vs building my own view form scratch.
The calendar needs to be able to:
have each cell editable (clicking opens panel to show options and edit) and a variable amount of text fields added into the cell. Ie a user has option to pick 5 types of events, some of which require more than one text field.
For populated cell content to be draggable into other cells for so calendar can be easily tweaked.
Easily loaded with content form DB
Exportable to csv.
I have gone some way in building my own thing form scratch now to be used as a UX prototype. However, due to the fatc that it needs to be dynamic and also allow export to Excel i thought looking at datagrad as the base might help me. In terms of structure its not that verbose. Each day is broken into 4 blocks (2 blocks in morning and 2 in afternoon) which each of those cells really so far needing a max of 2 text fields.
Has anyone had any experience in customisation the component? I don't want to put what i have on hold and delve into the datagraid if its going to be too restrictive. Any pointers would be great
thanks in advance
