emulator effectivnes

May 11, 2009 10:39 PM

Hi all,

I was wondering, am the CPU processing speed and RAM effect the FL emulator?

I think the emulator was programmed to reflect the mobile device and not affected by the CPU speed and processing ect...

Just want the conformation. ;D

Thanks.

Each profile in Device Central has a Performance Index associated with it, this rates the device against other devices.  So if you use the "Simulate Performance" checkbox and profile this against your computer you will get a good idea of the device performance.

Of course it's not perfect, that would be impossible, and personally I reduce the performance to 80% to ensure that my applications run well even if the device is busy.

I meant reduce to 80% to recreate a worst case scenario, all applications should function within that and the end result is typically better.

Somewhere I read that "failing to plan is planning to fail".  So plan for the worst and you're probably better off.
