Mac keyboard shortcut for hide/show baseline grid not working

Jul 22, 2008 7:15 AM

US Mac Keyboard, OS 10.5.x. The keyboard shortcut is Option and Command + the Quote key (').

Other shortcuts work fine: e.g. Option and Command + Semicolon key ";" for Lock Guides. (The Quote key works fine, too).

Any help appreciated, thanks.

You give the default but in reality the shortcut can be anything you want.

First, what does your menu show? View/Grids & Guides > is there a shortcut beside the entry for show baseline grid?

What about in Edit Shortcuts? Is it defined there, and is its context default?

You could try switching to another shortcut set and then switching back. Sometimes that can jar a wayward shortcut.

Or failing all the above, reset your preferences.

I have had the same problem.

If I go into shortcuts to make a custom shortut and in the "New Shortcut" field type Option and Command + the Quote key (') nothing shows up... Its almost as thow that keyboard short cut does not work... however if I go into apples system prefs and allocate the shortcut to something like spotlight it works fine... so its not the keyboard or opprating system.

I am having the exact same problem.

Neither switching to another keyboard shortcut set nor deleting the InDesign preferences fixed the problem.
