photoshop upgrade help

Feb 5, 2009 7:17 PM

I'm currently running windows xp 32 bit with PS CS2 and I am wanting to upgrade my OS to vista 64 bit and then purchase a PS upgrade at 199.00 from CS2 to CS4. I don't remember if CS2 asked what bit version my OS was before installing. Will I run into any troubles buying the cheaper upgrade of PS after my OS upgrade?

CS4 will automatically recognize the 64bit OS and install both the 32bit and
the 64 bit versions of Photoshop.

    Hi,

I also am considering installing Windows Vista 64 bit and have both LR 2 and CS4.  As I've read here in the forum, I have have no problem with them running on 64 bit.  My question:

-If I have upgraded both LR and CS4 over the years and I don't have the full installation CD (only upgrades), which version do I start the installation with?

Can I just use the last version and it will ask for my serial number?  I mean, is the last version the complete program?

My first LR was given to me licensed and free by Adobe as I had just purchased Raw Shooters Essentials, when they bought them.  I then continued upgrading up to the latest version via downloads, which I have copied and stored.

I have all the cd's for Photoshop, up to CS4.

    Thank you!

    Gloria

Yes, either that or it will ask you to temporarily insert the DVD from the previous version.

All upgrades install a copy of the full program (and would leave the previous version intact if it were installed).

Thanks so much for your reply!

OK, now I know what to do with CS4, no problem as I have all the dvd's, but with LR, where all I have are digital downloads, I guess, it would just ask for my serial number?

    Thanks again!

I guess so but you could always ask in the Lightroom forum.

Oh, yes, I'm in the Photoshop forum!

I have the serial number and program backed up on cd, but it's not an Adobe cd, so I'll have to ask.  I'm just about sure all I need is my serial number, but I'll ask anyway.

    I really appreciate your help!
