I's been wrong for weeks! ![]()
JJ,
Adobe is closed for the week.
It happens occasionally throught the years in a week prior to a long weekend—such as the upcoming Independence Day on July 4th—when many staff members are absent anyway.
Here's the full and official explanation:

Can someone please close this topic:

The OP has never bothered to come back and post platform/environment information, and the topic was subsequently hijacked by people with their own agenda, insulting forum volunteers and threatening lawsuits.

it shows that even teachers can be stupid. (who the hell is he/she going to sue?
Dave, agree with you... nothing wrong with the post or the thread... that guy Arp Man has bent over backwards to apologise to Pat for what, i gather, was a simple misunderstanding. And actually, the teacher has not threatened to sue... has just highlighted accessibility issue and said,
"Whatever the problem is that is denying access to millions is turning into a civil rights issue. If we randomly denied people the right to a free and appropriate education in America. they'd be lawsuits in nanoseconds."
No threat of suing... just a warning to Adobe that it could become an issue because,
"As a teacher, I need access to content that is only available with the latest version of Flash"
Even goes on to ask Adobe not to take offense but please fix the issue so that s/he can get on with her/his job.
Nothing remotely wrong in all the above. (Pat is just freaking out. <shrug /> )
I love the "blame the provider excuse". this is what leads people to sue google (and get tossed out of court every time) when someone posts an infringing video on youtube.
um, excuse me! mr professor sir! if the content is in a format that is inaccessable to you, get the content in another format. iow, 1st thing to do is speak with the content's CREATOR, not the maker of the tool that allows you to access that content.
if adobe doesn't want to be the provider of the creation and rendering sw, someone else will surely fill their shoes as the market adjusts to fill a need. but it's not adobe's fault that you can't get at content adobe didn't create.
