Is there a way to rename a web page in Contribute? We're using CS3 if that makes any difference. My users would rather not use FTP each time they want to rename a page (and I can't blame them).
Thanks,
Kathy
so i understand you want to rename a pagename with extension, for example this.html you want to change into that.html...??
I don't see why you don't want to use FTP to do so.. if you figure out the name you want it to have before making the page, you can do it in one turn right?
otherwise i would not know how to do so, i seem to be missing a lot of features in contribute.
cheers
hope i helped a little
We are using Contribute so that the job of updating web pages is easier for our non-technical users (which is most of them). They expect Contribute to have a renaming option like other software. And I expect that too - except that there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to do it. Renaming a file seems like a pretty basic function to me and why Adobe left it out is a mystery to me. At any rate, expecting my users to use FTP is unrealistic for them - they don't need to rename files very often and they would need to re-learn how to use FTP each time which would make it a headache for them and consequently for me. FTP may seem like an easy solution for us technical folks, but that's not who I'm dealing with.
Thanks for trying to answer my question.
