how to delete current references??

i followed the Adobe illustrator CS4 training book guide to delete my current references or reset to default reference (Windows Vista)..

however, i found it hard to find the paths as the book mensioned..

anyone knows why?

it would be just the Illustrator CS4 application!

yeap, they are all fine. the reason that i need to delect the current preferences is what the Adobe book telling to,
otherwise it would affect another work in illustrator...

Trash the prefs: +C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Illustrator+ on Win Vista.

I picked this up from an earlier thread I think Mylenium posted it, I don't know why the PC people don't stop by and help out with this and post a clear path to the Adobe Illustrator Settings folder or its equivalent on the pc?

i could work that out: +C:\Users\[your name]\

but i still could not find: AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Illustrator+

Sheesh why does every article on this make it so hard?

Instructions based on my experience - Illy CS4 on the Mac.

1. Close Illy.

2. Open Finder and go to:
(main > users >) home > Library > Preferences > Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings > en_US

3. Rename the "en_US" folder to anything else.

4. Start Illy.

5. The "en_US" folder will be generated fresh. You can copy individual bits back from your copy and see if your problems return. (I moved my Workspace and Keyboard Shortcuts back).

That's what it is for me. Of course if you have a different version of Illy or you aren't in the US, or you aren't on a Mac, it'll be different. I'm guessing that's easy enough to figure out.

Also, if you want you can just trash the "Adobe Illustrator Prefs" file in "en_US".

PS Adobe, did you really have to use a custom text box widget for this comment editor? It sucks. Please stop rebuilding things needlessly (e.g. the windowing system). Thanks!

Thanks for including this with screenshot.

The comment Editor is part of the Jive System that the Forum is based on. What kind of problems are you having with it? I myself have had Firefox Mac v.3 crash while loading the widget several times, and reported that to Firefox, but I don't know if it's really their problem, something to do with the Jive software, or something else altogether.
