I've been running Snow Leopard for a while now and have found very few issues... Lightroom runs just fine and I have not noticed any difference to my printing using my Epson R2400... my profiles works fine and colour between systems are consistent.

What I will say about Snow Leopard is... it makes my Mac feel like it has a rocket up its backside... Lightroom is so much faster in all operations (importing/exporting/adjustments) and after a hard session in LR, my Mac still works fairly smoothly, unlike with Leopard when it would bring the Mac to a snails pace crawl!!!

Very encouraging..  Are you using Photoshop?  If so, CS3 or CS4?  If CS3 any issues, especially in light of Adobe saying it won't officially support CS3 on Snow Leopard?

According to the Epson web site very few (if any) printer drivers have been updated for Snow Leopard.  They advise installing Rosetta for the time being.

I installed Snow Leopard this afternoon, and still have not been able to print to my Epson Photo R1800 or to my old Epson Stylus Color 740.  I installed Rosetta soon after installing Snow Leopard, and went to the Epson website to download a driver right after finding that I could not print out of LR.  So far, however, I haven't found the magic combination - any print command goes out into cyber space.  I had similar problems when I installed Leopard a year ago and eventually managed to load in all of the correct drivers, so I'm sure I will stumble upon a solution. Scheesch! 

My Hewlett Packard all-in-one works just fine, but that's not my photo printer!

I am just hoping that Epson takes this opportunity to get with the program and provide properly written drivers for the Stylus Pro printers so that B&W prints come out properly.

In the meantime, I am going to wait before upgrading to Snow Leopard.  At least on my studio machine.

Actually, I usually wait for the .1 update to be released before upgrading the OS in a major step (ie, 10.5.x to 10.6).

And for the record, I have never been able to get CS4 or LR2 to print properly in B&W using PS manages color.  I have to switch to CS3 for printing.

I am curious to hear whether the Rosetta option referred to by Epson (whatever it does) actually makes the Stylus Pro printers work properly.

I don"t use a Mac, but a good rule of thumb (for any OS) is not to

upgrade on Day One, and not to upgrade unless/until you are sure you

can get updated drivers/support for any critical components/hardware

that you have.

That's a big part of the cause of Windows Vista being seen as a mostly

failed OS.

It's why I won't upgrade to Win 7 for a while yet. Eventually I will

... after I see which of my required software needs a patch, to work

well with the new OS.

I use Photoshop CS3 on a new MacBook Pro. I just installed Snow Leopard. I downloaded the new pinter driver from Epson. Photoshop seems to work well until I try to print on my Epson Photo 2400 printer. Nothing happens after I press print - the printer icon flashes briefly but the print process does not start. I was able to print successfully on the same printer using iPhoto. Any suggestions?

When I opened my Mail account after installing Snow Leopard, a menu popped

up indicating Rosetta needed to be installed before using Mail again. I

approved installation and think it did. However, I can't seem to find

Rosetta in Finder. Do I need to install it from the the disc?

Well personally i don't think Apple fixed this HUGE bug (if its apple's fault…),

people here in the thread that talkn about Snow doesn't seem to really know nothing about the RGB printing issue we are talking about.

I suspect nothng changed. But i'm not gona beta test this out.

I have no idea if HP (B8850 for me) made new drivers and if they are provided in the OS. They're not on HP's site at least.

neuelex- FWIW, the OP is asking about issues with Lightroom and Epson printers. You are asking a question about HP printers and making a statement about a thread from the InDesign forum. I suggest you either start a new thread regarding HP printers or continue your RGB comments in the other forum.

I solved the problem. I reloaded Rosetta from the Snow Leopard disc, turned

off the printer then turned it on after attaching it to the computer via a

usb connection. Thanks for your concern.

After searching the Epson site, I found a driver for my R1800 that appears to be the correct one.  After doing a recalibration with my ColorMunki, the printout is identical to what I can see on my monitor!  The available options are not quite the same as the earlier (Leopard) version, but I was able to get the same results.

I also found the correct driver for my 4870 Scanner - two victories in one day!  And the HP 6100 worked right away without any problems.

I'm still struggling with the old Color 740, but I first have a network issue to resolve, since it is connected on the USB port on my AirPort Base Station. Since I only use it for document backup, I can live without it.

Epson doesn't make it easy, but it looks like I am back in business.

I have a few chores to take care of today, but as soon as I get a few moments I will retrace my steps and find the link to the driver that I am using.

It doesn't provide all of the options which the earlier driver had -  I read someplace that Epson limited the options in order to keep the file size down, and I feared the worst when I first tried to use it.  However, after profiling my paper and printer with ColorMunki, I was very happy with the results.
