xd cam

Sep 6, 2009 11:11 AM

Hello all,

My friend went on a shoot with me. He's got the Sony XD Cam EX1 and hasn't used it much yet. He has no idea how to give me files that I can use in Premiere Pro CS4. I don't see a thread with a work flow in the archives. Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks and happy labor day weekend.

Jessica

    Jessica,

Just copy the whole BPAV folder from the SxS card to your hard disk, import that directory and all sub-folders into PR and disregard/skip the error messages. In the project panel, open the BPAV bin you imported and there are all your shots.

You want the entire BPAV folder structure and all of its contents as recorded to the SxS cards. You can then use the Media Browser to import the files you need. Check "Importing assets from tapeless formats" for more information.

    Out of curiosity only guys...

Is XDCAM workflow different from P2 in the sense that you do not have to bring the entire P2 folder structure into PPro (Project bin) for it to work.

ie. I bring only the mxf files in the Video Folder into PPro.  (The P2 Entire folder is of course ingested on the HDD)
