Lag updating the properties panel

Dec 2, 2008 2:09 AM

I've been using fireworks since version 4 and before adobe bought it, the mac version never lagged like it has since then. I just downloaded the demo of fireworks cs4 and it finally *seems* to be back to where it used to be performance-wise, with one huge and important exception: when selecting any object, the properties panel takes a good 0.5-1 second to refresh almost every single time. This majorly interrupts my workflow, as my cursor reaches the property I want to modify considerably faster than that, and for a quick select object->change color->select other object, that adds around 25% more time while I wait for the panel to display the properties for the current object.

Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I'm really happy with the new vector editing tools in CS4, but I haven't upgraded in a long time because I really need that UI responsiveness, otherwise I'm wasting time waiting for the program to load.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Seeing that Fireworks CS4 has so many other critical bugs, and CS3 never had it's bugs addressed (Adobe: "Go buy CS4!") I doubt this will ever be fixed. I agree, this is really annoying, but we'll probably have to wait till CS5!

This is not exactly a fix for your problem, but I've completely gone
around the problem by *not* using the properties panel... I use a
collection of commands for fill & stroke color, resizing, etc... and I
    bind them to keyboard shortcuts.

Take a look at the commands, and see if you like them :)

I do not believe this strange and annoying issue!. I paid for CS4 Firefox to better design experience with it but after that I fell down to problem pool! how is it possible that the biggest software company in the world do not fix these funny bugs! how is it possible!? I really think that I was definitely wronged and cheated. I've been using CS3 for a while and today I spend hours again to surf Internet to look solutions for that but nothing

is there anyone from Adobe here?! I want to an reliable answers and solution suggestions.....
