I'm looking for some nice color pallettes for my Illustrator graphs. The default is pretty much black, grey and lighter grey. I'm not sure I want that, but I don't want anything too fancy either.
Open Window > Swatch Libraries > Default CMYK, a good place to start. From there, you can create some interesting alternatives. If your file is in RGB mode, just select "Default RGB" instead of "Default CMYK". But if it is a print piece, stick with CMYK.
This still doesn't change the default from greyscale though- How can I apply a swatch so that it will give me percentages of the swatch rather than percentages of black without having to go in and manually change everything??????
Here's a website that may be helpful. Also, make sure to keep tints at least 20% apart.
