Could someone supply me with the list of fonts that come with Acrobat 8? (I can't for the life of me find this information anywhere on the adobe site, or the forum, even though it's reasonably essential product information). I'd also like to know if there are any fonts in that list that may not be used commercially when one buys Acrobat 8.
I realise Acrobat 9 is out, but it offers no functionality that I need that isn't found in acrobat 8, and with stores trying to get rid of their last versions 8, it's a lot cheaper.

Open Distiller (or from the printer properties), select the Adobe PDF settings and edit the set. On the font tab, go to the font source window and select the Acrobat folder. That should show you the fonts. You can also try the Resource folder of the Adobe folder and look at that list. I think this is the list you are looking for.
I haven't bought it yet, my purchase decision is in part dependent on which fonts come with the program (not just the default installed fonts, but also optional fonts on the disc). If I had the install disc, I could do a sandboxed install and easily find out what it comes with =)
Since AA8 is not available from Adobe, it is hard to say further from my end. I suspect the fonts in AA9 would be the same and you could download and install the trial version of AA9. In reality, you generally would use fonts that you have on your system and not new fonts from Acrobat. Acrobat is not an editor. Thus there is the question about why you need information on the fonts - you may be expecting something from Acrobat that is not any part of the PDF concept.
mostly based on a reply to a font licensing question from adobe's side. I want to use Kozuka Mincho Pro in a book, and they informed me that it would be most economically sensible to buy a product that it comes bundled with like photoshop or acrobat. However, I'd like to know which version of the font I would be buying depending on which product. For photoshop it looks like CS3 is good enough, but for acrobat (which they indicated should also work) there does not appear to be a known fonts list (it does come with some fonts, and there's an asian font pack that can be downloaded for it, but no information on which versions of which fonts).
Here is a bit of info for version 8: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrasianfontpack.html
Sorry that I don't have any other information to help.
