As far as printing to the Adobe PDF printer, DO NOT check the print to file. The printer should take care of that. If you print to file, you are printing to a PS file (NOT PDF) that would then have to be opened in Distiller to create the PDF. I had mentioned this may not be the simplest way, but it does the job for what you needed.

This is not necessarily the most effective way, but I simply printed to a new file with the option to shrink to fit paper (8.5X11). The document shrunk as a result. The PDF is attached.

Since there were no form fields in the file, I simply printed to a new PDF with letter as the paper size and selected

to fit margins.

I try to do same, but can't save to file

I opened my original file (legal size), than File --> Print

Printer name : Adobe PDF

Page Scaling: Reduce to Printer Margins

Print to File (cheked)

Clicked OK. Than in Output File Name field:

L:\test\filename.pdf

Clicked OK. And see error:

"When you create a PostScript file ypu have to send the host fonts.

Please go to the printer propertied, "Adobe PDF Settings" page

and turn OFF the option "Do not send fonts to Distiller" "

What was wrong?

I attached print screens here.

Thanks.

Reprinting/Refrying from Acrobat is no longer associated with best methods practice. If you have a DTP program you can import each page into the DTP program using letter size for each page. Scale the page, then create a new pdf file from there.
