Greetings!!
Absolute newbie to video, halfway thru steves tutorials, opened 3 clips, then dragged to timeline. try to play back, and audio is there, but screen is teal blue. If I stop, the still is full color video. These are .tod files on a new vista machine supposedly meeting specs.
thanks,

JVC Everio... backed it up to hard drive using bundled software. Later, as hard drive got loaded (I was on trip to Africa), I moved files to external hard drive. This week, bought pe8 and moved 3 files back to hard drive to work on them. Moved them into pe8 using "get media" and searched for them, then opened them. The thumbnails are in color. thanks
TOD & MOD files can present some unique problems with editing, but that aside, the first thing that I would look into would be getting the very latest video driver and installing that. What brand/model of video card do you have, and what is the current driver version?
Next, I'd make sure that my QuickTime was updated to the latest version.
Good luck,
Hunt
Here is an ARTICLE from the PrPro forum on odd colored display. Is this about what you are getting?
Good luck,

AT Romano's suggestion of "unchecking the gpu" worked!!!! yeah!!!!!
I probably should have just got a part time job at home depot.... for the hours I've got in trying to learn this, I could have paid one of you pros to go to Africa and shoot the footage, and another to produce it.
Thank you
