    Hey forum,

is here any new information about this issue?

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad with switchable graphics (see signature). With the internal graphics card it VC3 works fine. But with the external graphics card (ATI Fire GL 5700) i got the following error c6700016:

Unfortunately I cannot use the internal card together with an external monitor, so I have to use the FireGL for VC3. The driver is the newest one Lenovo provides for this notebook.

Are the any suggestions? It's really annoying... :-(

I too now have the same issue and error message as chiquadrat with my new HP Win7 with Radion HD 6770M super-d-duper notebook computer.  This product is definitely worth putting money into just to keep it current with new technology such as video hardware and video now being USB and not Firewire, etc.  I really love this product, but it is a shame that there are install issues that probably have no merit.  I previously had this loaded on my new computer and had the errors for a while and then, out of nowhere, it started working.  I just installed CS5.5 Master Collection and when I went back to check my VC3, it said I had errors now and had to uninstall it and reinstall it, so I went through all of that and now have the video error again.   I'm hoping it just decides to go away again, but that makes using this software on this new computer highly unreliable and that's not good when your teaching.  Stability and consistency means everything.  I really hope Adobe steps up and improves VC!  Although, I'm not surprised to see that there hasn't been any customer support help here, given the really poor customer service experience I've had with my CS5.5 Master Collection install errors.  Come on Adobe!   Get this application up and running strong with today's technology!

I'm just checking back in as my local public library here in Niagara Falls, NY is interested in putting together a video program for teens. I told them I'd be happy to bring my green screen over and demo some software packages for them.  I was having the issue shown above and then, for some strange reason, it disappeared.  But now it is back again.  So now I won't be able to demo the Adobe Visual Communicator which I have been talking up a storm about and the library will most likely be uninsterested in purchasing if I can't get it to work on my computer.

It would really be nice if someone at Adobe would look into this and come up with a solution.    Visual communicator is a great application, but it needs to keep pace with the changes in hardware.

Please Adobe, post something here to let us know you area aware of our issues and hopefully have some kind of solution in the near future.

    Thanks,

    Max

I'm going to try and download the free trial copy and then apply my activation code to the new download and see if that works.  I hope to demo VC on Wednesday on my new Win7 machine as my old XP machine has a hard drive issue so I doubt it will even boot.  It would be nice if VC would work with USB devices since my new computer didn't have a firewire port option.  I'm using my Pinnacle Studio hardware that goes from firewire or RCA to USB.

Please, any help and updates would really be appreciated!

    Thanks!

I'm still searching for a fix.  All of my settings seem correct as suggested in the error message.

Adobe:  Please take some of the profits you earned last quarter and invest a few dollars in this Visual Communicator to bring it up to date!  It is a great product, but the latest hardware improvements are making this valuable software impossible to use.  I know it isn't probably the most profitable product in your portfolio, but I own The Adobe Master Collection suite and I wish this Visual Communicator was included in that package or at the very least available to work with today's hardware.  It's getting increasingly more difficult to find hardware (computers and video cameras) with firewire as the new USB protocals are making the firewire obsolete.  Also, the change to higher resolution wide-screen monitors probably needs to be addressed.  Don't really care if it is in High Def or not.  Just get the updated drivers and hardware connections fixed and get Visual Communicator 4 out!

Hopefully you can find some amount of money in your profits to allocate to the VC4 project.
