I've been having a recurring problem where I'll open a file, I've been working on for awhile, and a good portion of the the static text has spontaneously been Faux Bolded.
I don't know what causes this, I always have the correct fonts loaded. I then have to go through the long process of manually unchecking Faux Bold on the offending occurrence. This process was easier with CS3 because I could launch "Find and Replace" and set it to find specific fonts styled as Faux Bold and automatically replace them. But with CS4, the "Style" parameter was removed from the Find and Replace dialog window so I have to visually hunt down Bolded font and its difficult because its not always visually apparent.
I can't find anything anywhere online where anyone has this problem. I'm using Flash CS4 Professional 10.0.2 on a Mac with Universal Type Client as my font manager.
I've the same problem, 2 years later with the CS6 version, spontaneously activate Faux Italic and there's no way to revert to normal style. Also you can't always apply faux style, they're always greyed out.
I'm working on Windows XP with the last Flash CS6 Update.
Do these static textfields contain text that has multiple styles applied to the same field (some words bold, some not, some italic, different colors, etc) or is all of the text the same font/color/size/etc? I'm wondering if during saving the styles of nearby fonts are being misapplied to other text near it.
