So I open up Illustrator CS4 today and I start working with a simple file. I use my shift key to proportionally enlarge something, and it doesn't work. I can use shift to type upper case within Illustrator, but its not allowing me to size things proportionally. I searched within many option and menus and googled this problems without any resolution. Does anyone know what this could be?
You may also be having problems with the OS blocking the use of modifier keys. VPNs, some programs like Quicken scheduler or Entourage and others hold an open port to the internet and the OS blocks the modifier keys to prevent malware from doing scripted calls in the background. Try opening the Activity Monitor and see what's running in the background.
I had the same problem. I read the Entourage can interfere with this, so I quit Entourage and Illustrator. I opened Illustrator (left Entourage closed) and the shift constraint worked. However, when I then open Entourage it stops working. This is no good as I need to use both at the same time. Any soloution available for that?
catfishwar,
Any soloution available for that?
I am not sure. You may try to Move the folder ; if that does not help, it may be a Catch-22.
