Which is the quickest or easiest way to add a drop-down menu to the following site buttons

    I can't find the popup menu magic button on the insert bar - does everyone

    have one?

    Pop Menu Magic is a PVII full-featured menu system.  Unless you purchase and install the extension you  won't see it in DW.

     

    You want the PVII Tutorial for Express Pure CSS Drop Menu

     

    Or you could use DW's built in Horizontal Spry Menu.  Hit F1 (help) to learn more about it.

    I am playing around with the spry menu, but it seems to want to add a new

    horizontal nav with the drop-down... is it possible to add the drop-down to

    my existing nav

    also, I am trying to change the appearance of the spry menu buttons and

    nothing seems to be happening... is there a trick to this?

    You should open a fresh, new HTML page and play with Spry Menus for a day or 2.  They take some skill and patience to customize.

    ok... I had an aha moment

    realized that I could change the appearance when I found that the css style

    sheet was open

    I decided to close it down and start again with a fresh spry but don't know

    how I got the style sheet open in the first place

    can anyone tell me this please?

    I'll second Nancy's recommendation of the Project Seven CSS Express menus. They are considerably better than using the Spry widgets and more accessible. Plus they are free and easy to use. There is a complete turorial on how to use them if you follow the link she gave. Its a simple matter of creating unordered nesting lists, using the javascript provided and either the PVII images or creating your own to the same size as the provided ones.

     

    If you want the easiest way then buy one of their menu systems which require little more than selecting the links you want on the menu. However, something that easy to use isn't free.

    Yes I did check it out, and even chatted with one of the developers... but I

    had already made the spry menu

    I did play around with the CSS Express after the fact, and really liked the

    fluidity much more than the spry and will keep it in mind if I have problems

    with the spry menu. I might even change it after the biz is up and running

    and I have more time. I am just trying to get the site finished for March

    break deadline. I appreciate the info.
