This thread is rolling over from the previous thread that has served its purpose but is getting too long to be read comfortably on mobile devices. May it rest in peace.
Hi, this is not spam. Adobe Admin mail box is full. I have a person on the Flash Forum that evidently is using the PM feature and causing confusion in the threads. I have already addressed the issue on her/his thread and perhaps that is why they went PM. Another thread author responded to me thinking I was the one that PM'd them. I just don't know what to do. This has happened on 3 threads. Thanks, eidnolb
Thanks Admin. I had stated in the PM to you but it wouldn't go thru and didn't want to post too much here and clutter the Spam report thread. To answer your question, I don't know. He posted to me, but his post clearly indicated he had received instruction from someone else and it was not on the thread and certainly was not from me. Honestly, I think he just responded to the last post on the thread, which was me. Since I can't prove he received the info via the PM, but due to the posts on the various threads from the person in question(MerryMort, then MerryMort2000) I would say yes the info came from that screen name and via PM. If you want further info, please let me know. This is the thread in question:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/580819?tstart=0 Author Tomasz77. Not a long thread, just 5 posts. Thanks
I don't see any reference to a Private Message. And it isn't clear if Tomas was replying to your message or to Mort's. He could be referring to the "manual update" as your instructions to close browsers, virus scan, and connect back and go to the about URL.
Tomas appears to be connecting from another country, so English might not be his primary language.
I'm not sure how Mort relates to this, except that he listed the latest version number to check for.
Thanks for checking, his response didn't make any sense to me. I did not suggest doing a manual update as he stated in his post, nor did I ask him anything about version #'s as he refers to. This is all in keeping with MerryMort/MerryMort2000 constant drum beat on 3 additional threads besides their own. I have posted to him twice, but no reply other than "still open" Time will tell.
This person came to my attention late last night. http://forums.adobe.com/people/sanpixal
Created 12 threads and replied to 7 other ones. Posts his Business Guide-Grayboxx
Is this spam?
To JVD:
These 2 threads contain information as such that I thot someone should read the posts to see if it is valuable enough to
be forwarded to those that it would be. Please read only the posts by verdy_p as these are the ones that caused me to post this here. (1) http://forums.adobe.com/thread/580819?tstart=0

Is this just spam for some site, or a legit request for help? http://forums.adobe.com/message/2636708#2636708

Link removed once, so he posted it again http://forums.adobe.com/thread/589934?tstart=0
Maybe an admin should send him a private email... or post a note as well as removing the link?
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/589890 - spam? Maybe the poster's IP address will tell?
Kami,
I'd agree with you on this one. Maybe a real boxing fan, but looks like a shill at the bare minimum. Probably a good call there.
Now, I do offer up commercial software, so long as it will likely help a poster get their job done. I have been questioned by a few of "my" MOD's, but when they look and apply my logic, all have stood. Good that they question, for the benefit of the fora.

I've never seen a problem with that as long as you aren't constantly hocking your own software when there is an Adobe solution or when it's questionable whether it would help the poster or not.
