Hey guys thank for looking. Im trying to encode a video with these settings
File Path: L:\Martin\Encoded Videos\The One mp4.mp4
Type: XDCAM-EX Movie
File Size: 285.7 MB
Image Size: 1280 x 720
Pixel Depth: 32
Frame Rate: 29.97
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
Total Duration: 00;02;47;14
Average Data Rate: 1.7 MB / second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0
Now I try and encode it with quicktime but I get horrible quality.
I tried h.264 and it looks good but the picture gets stuck and audio goes on like normal.
My questions is does anyone have a preset that I can maybe use or know what problem Im having.
Here are the setting for h.264 encoding. Any help would be appreciated.
Eric
Yes i did change the aspect to 1280x720 because thats what the OG video was. I would like to encode it to be HD. The settings I have here are from a post on vimeo which is where I want to post my final production video. Should I change the pixle ratio to something else. Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you.
If I piecing your answers together right, you want to encode it for HD web delivery.
For that I would suggest using H264 and choosing one of the youtube hd presets. You may need to tweek the frame size if there is not one to match your source footage. You dont want to enlarge as you encode.
Edit Sry I was posting same time as shoooter. Use his wise advice.
Thanks boss... Yes I have CS4 i checked out the youtube setting but the fram width and height wont let me do 1280x720 so Im trying the apple tv 720p which lets me do just that. Will post results!
Ooh one last thing if you will, whats a good medium for target bit rate and maximum bit rate for HD?
I tried h.264 and it looks good but the picture gets stuck and audio goes on like normal.
Where do you observe the above? ie what player? Did you upoad it to VIMEO at all?
Also very weird that your 2 min 47 secs projects as a 9mb file from 285mbs. That is really low and very highly compressed for HD.
.
After the video is encoded and I try playing the video in quicktime... Oooh yeah Im only rendering a small clip of the video until I get the settings right to encode the entire thing.
Ok tried the the apple TV HD and youtube preset and it looked good once again - the audio was on point but the video (picture was running really slow)
Here are settings for youtube! What can cause the footage to run slow once encoded. What setting should I mess with? Thanks again in advance for dealing with a newb.
Hey guys im back and with no luck... The video is in slow motion when encoded but the audio is fine. I have 46 encoding attempts and same result what am I doing wrong. Here are a few screen shots. Im using CS4 and playing the exported video on windows media player. The original non edited video plays fine on windows media player.
Here are the properties of the original video.
Here are the sequence settings...
And here I have the export settings...
Can someone please point out what I'm doing wrong here or what I should try. Thanks guys I'm about to go crazy here!
