sometimes I'm not able to oper a file that I saved.
When i save the file I have no error message. When I open the file again everything seems to work but after the generating pixel windows I have the File not readable error message.
If I copy the same file on a mac, even an old one, the file works fine.
Somebody told me that Illustrator doesnt' work fine with 64bit WIndows for the memory use. Is it true? Somebody have the same problem, and know a solution?
What you seen is a well documented critical memory bug that Adobe refuses to fix. Actually Adobe does not provide any updates.
However, some users tired waiting for Adobe to do something, found one work around that probably can help you:
The users have CS3 version on Windows 7 (64bit), but probably can help you!
I hope this helps!
I believe that since Illustrator is 32 bit that you have to earmark it to run as 332bit on windows 7 and then it works fine.
Skullmaker is being particularly irrational here since windows 7 came out quite a long time after Illustrator CS 4 was released and knows that this is something that can be adjusted and you have to use the mechanism on Windows 7 to do so.
I do not quite know where in the control panel you would make this earmark but I know you can d it. And Illustrator CS 4 then works fine.
Thanks, but I think the problem is a little bit different: I have no error when I save the file, and no memory allert...
I've seen the tread about CS3 but I thought it was solved with CS4.
I'll try to run it as 32bit application and see if it works better.
