Yesterday I have posted in at least 30 threads the direct download links to Adobe trial software because a lot if not all of the people had problems with the infamous Akami Download Manager. I did too and found a way to get the direct download links without having to go through Akami.
So today I come back and see that all those posts have been removed. Not to worry for all the people that still have problems downloading Adobe trials.
I will make a public page listing all the Adobe Trial Downloads Direct Links / Offline Installers for Mac and Pc in English and also how I got them. Anybody that likes the link to that page can PM me.
Adobe, I do this not to affront you but to help the people that like to try your products. Do something about the Akami Download Manager!
ADOBE : Your Attention Please . If it wasn't for this persons valuable service I would not consider your Product .
my page with all the direct download links is coming soon, do not worry if you have probelms with akami, with the direct download link you do not need akami anymore, this is for mac and pc. as
as I write this the page is being done and will be online soon. thanks for your patience.
before I posted some of the direct download links here in the adobe forum but some admin/mod deleted them, so they want you to use akami what is complete ********.
but not to worry, help is here and opening soon online with all the direct download links.
Please don't bother creating a special page for this. We have acknowledged that we need to provide
direct download parallel to the one with Akamai's download manager, and they are coming in the next month's release.
no special page, just the download links on a simple blog, a whole month to wait is a lot of time plus who knows what those new links might look like. anyways if you are a tiny bit savy with puters the links are right there in front of you so really it is no big secret or anything.
thanks for actually joining this discussion and may i ask why adobe does not give the links directly and more important why adobe actually chose to use akami?
I checked/researched akami a little bit and got lots of people reporting errors from other companies too, lots of users have made very bad experiences with akami across many platforms in the past so what was the point of using it? be able to distrubute downloads better? just google "akami error" for starters..
We are fully aware of the variety of issues we see reported. Unfortunately, I can't say we had anticipated them. Most of the problems have been difficult to reproduce and we have yet not been able to fully diagnoze a number of them. Overall, most of the people are actually able to successfully download the Adobe products, and we are working hard to provide the best way for everyone to access our software.
The Akamai download manager does add value as it speeds up the download more than 30%, compared to a regular browser download. On large files like the Adobe CS Suites, this amounts to many hours less. Furthermore, the DLMv3 does an automatic validation of the integrity of the downloaded program files, and ensures that your download is fully functional. Finally, the download manager provides a guaranteed resume, unlike many of the browser implementation, especially with large files.
With the next month's release the download links would be automatically provided, together with the download manager. As I mentioned before, any links to software that might be posted and are not hosted/provided by Adobe would be both stale, and represent a security risk - I would not advise anyone to access them. We have CS5 release just around the corner, and it's best to just wait for it to come.
thanks for clearing that up and curious about the new dlm and happy to hear users will be helped. thanks a lot! I am sure this is highly appreciated by the people having had trouble with it in the past.
firefox add-ons/download mangers (i use https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/6945 ) provide a resume function and speed up downloads, as for checking the integrity I have so far never had an issue with trials downloaded from the direct links.
on your last point I would never post links to products from adobe NOT hosted on adobe servers itself! all the links I will post start with "trials.adobe.com..." or "trials2.adobe.com..." and so on, so clearly indicate that the software comes from adobe directly thus being 100% secure. no i am not here to lure people into some malicious download, me too i had this problem with akami for ages and my only wish is to help other people that have been in the same situation as me. so as long as robtex tells me trials.adobe.com is clean ( http://www.robtex.com/dns/trials.adobe.com.html ) that is enough for me.
as for security risks I can only say having to give admin rights on mac or pc for a simple download manager is a joke, but this is not adobe's fault, this is purly akami messing up big time. who on earth is going to turn off anti virus, firewall etc like pointed out in the help section for the dlm just to download something over a shady dlm?
surly adobe products are great and using them is tremendous fun but exposing yourself to insecure downloads while obtaning the software is not acceptable, not for a company like adobe and most important not for adobe's users.
great to hear the cs5 is on the way. wow that went so fast, last time i looked cs4 was the latest, gosh i am so out of date.
Thank you Brinkmann! I just tried to download CS4 Design Suite trial and it was virtuallly impossible. The AKAMI download manager wouldn't do anything until I allowed them to make changes to my computer...which was probably stupid. Now I want to rescind the permission but don't know how. Especially since I never got the download--just a welcome email from Adobe telling me where to begin (training videos, etc.). Very frustrating.
Thank you Brinkman Design , I know where you are coming from , and your considerations and generosity are greatly appreciated.
I am of the older generation , but I think you ROCK . Graham.
Graham I appreciate your email that you sent to me but I am not Brickman Design. I am littledesertweed and I am just another frustrated adobe downloader trying to figure out how to get the PDF page to work. If you have any idea's for me I would be very grateful. You take care and good to know that you are of "the older generation"![]()
ok, so I have extraced the direct download links for most of the adobe trials. the little page where all the direct download links are is also set up and running. I think if I post the link to that page here the post might get deleted by an admin or mod so anyone that likes a complete list of direct download links only from adobe servers can send me a pm and I will send the link back ASAP.
I will try to post the link to my page in the next post but as I said I think it will be deleted.
however at this moment waiting another month to be able to download an adobe trial without akami is a bit much to ask from users/customers. but that is not for me to decide. hope this helps some of you.
I cannot download with the download manager either, it just stays on "waiting". I need to use the software now and not in 30 days, can anyone help?
the products are fine and great to work with, only getting them can be a bit difficult.
on my blog I have posted most of the the direct download links.
note please that so far you need an adobe account and need to be logged into it on the adobe site to be able to use the direct download links as adobe sets a session cookie on your machine that allows you to access the direct download links.
if there is a workaround for that I will post that on my blog later.
where is my blog? if you click on my profile or here and you will see the link. it is right under the username.
hope this helps some of you.
sorry I cannot come here everyday and send pms to all the people that need those direct download links but I hope I have been able to help some of you obtain these great products.
if you have any questions you can contact me on my blog or here via pm. taaaaaaaaa ![]()

Good move to include the DDLs for CS5.
Bad move to take the links for CS3 and CS4 away from Adobe's site.
Anyone in need of CS3 or CS4 can check out my profile.

I can only agree. Adobe as a company to work with are just as crappy and bad as the products offered are good. Adobe have a looong way to go to achive some level of customer satisfaction on service and support.
Technolux - you ROCK. Thanks for the links, you just made my day
Means I may still concider Dreamweaver as opposed to SharePoint.
Thanks!!

Rock On Technolux . Your efforts are appreciated and recognised . But Petar , stop defending your inactions and unsatisfying responses to all those whom have genuine dissatisfaction trying to use your Adobe products . I must be plain to your that Technolux is more popular and certainly more understanding of what the populus want and need than what you offer them . Everyone outside of Adobe can see the problem , and I think you do too , but being a little cog in a very large wheel your nuts are too tight . They are being squeezed by a bigger spanner above you .I can only repeat , Rock On Technolux. Graham.![]()
Thanks Graham. I appreciate your words and everyone understands the
situation Adobe employees find themselves in.
However I would also like to stress that these matters shall not be
taken on a personal level.
Petar does his job and in some posts his replies were helpful, perhaps
not related to the Akami Download Manager issue but on other topics.
All I can say is I really do appreciate that the community seems to
appreciate my efforts to deliver Adobe product trials without having to
deal with the Akami Download Manager issue, but all this shall happen in
a respectful and friendly manner, despite the fact that many of my posts
concerning the Akami issue have been deleted by Petar. It also looks
like with the release of CS5 Adobe has understood that direct download
links are a very needed alternative to Akami. I only wish more detailed
instructions would be given to the people about those links in the
pop-up that shows the links.
I did mind in the beginning that my posts were deleted but now I
understand that at times they will simply be deleted as perhaps as you
mention the pressure on Petar is to ensure that people receive help from
the Adobe end of affairs rather then from some users blog. I am here to
help and will continue to build the list with direct download links as I
have time and in the end would be very happy to present everyone with a
Adobe Product Trials Direct Download Links Matirx.
Thanks everyone!

The .exe file I downloaded does not associate with any program, it asks for the program to execute it, but I don't know which to use, can you help?
G'day mate , You could ask fellow scribe Technolux for a link to set you right. Just go back to Forums and you will spot one of his postings . Cheers.
Thanks Thommo19.
Jazzymel,
what product did you download? Normally for Windows downloads there are
2 files. The .exe and the .7z. The .exe is used to extract the .7z file.
They both need to be in the same folder. If you only want to download
the .7z file you can do that also and then extract it with the free
software 7zip. You can get it here: http://www.7-zip.org/ Once done look
in the extracted folder and hit the Setup.exe, that shall get you
started with the installation of the product you chose.
If you are looking for direct download links to CS4, CS3 or older
versions of Adobe products you can go to my blog:
http://technolux.blogspot.com/
So far I have not included the direct download links for CS5 because
they are given in the pop-up from Adobe directly once you choose what
product you like to download. However it seems that people still have
problems downloading CS5 products from Adobe. I shall update my post
with the CS5 direct download links.

Thanks, I was able to install CS5 with those files, I executed the .7z file and it worked.
Very pleased to read this jazzymel . Cheers , Thommo
Great job, technolux, adobe should hire you to reduce their fail rates.
Anyway, i googled your blog and noticed you dont have a link to photoshop CS5. Are you providing one soon? There is no way im installing that akami software. Actually, ppl should be ASKED if they want to use a download manager, not forced. I have my own download manager, thanks adobe, i dont need akamai fail software.
Evulmode,
a lot of people have been asking and so it shall be done. I will include
the CS5 links and update the CS3 and CS4 links with all the additional
links I have found since the last update. If you like my blog feel free
to plug it.
Thanks.

I've been trying to DL the trial for Lightroom 3 all evening to no avail. And then I finally tracked this thread down, and am downloading the trial from links provided by someone other than Adobe. Nice job Adobe. What are you thinking? Three months and you still haven't provided a solution for this. My goodness. Offer a trial and then make it impossible to download with this stupid Akamai thing. Pardon me for having purchased only Lightroom 2 and CS 4, and not CS 5. Jesus -- you know, other people value their time as much as you do yours. Think about it.
Three (3) things spring to mind regarding Adobe's persistence with the Akami DLM . The first and second things are "Dumb & Dumber", then comes Dumbest (Adobe) ![]()
"Next month"?? It is well beyond that and the Premiere Pro download in Opera is still broken. There are many of us who dislike IE8 intensely and prefer Opera to Firefox. As for the download manager "adding value" - yes to Akami's shareholders.
Sorry, Adobe, not one of your best moves.
lovely products, ugly akmi!!! adobe loosing credit for this move.
I'm a Photoshop legitimate owner, and a serious customer.
I cannot download any trial products from you with the default settings in IE8 as installed by Microsoft from the Windows 7 DVD.
Why do you expect users to change those settings? Is Microsoft aware of this? I'm guessing they must be?
I haven't gone through all the security settings that you ask to change, however, I've never had to change those settings for any download of this kind. It is too much to ask the user to do. Most people do not understand much about changing security settings. It's a difficult thing for many people. I do not know how to think of the fact that you asked the users to do this. Active X? I'm not a gamer, and I prefer to have it off. That's just one setting you asked to have turned on.
Unless I'm getting the process wildly wrong, which is hard to believe because a widow popped up during the download process that explained the security changes I needed to make in order for the Akamai download application to work, I either change the settings, or do not get your downloads.
Also, why should I need to install an Akamai application, Akamai being a huge image supply company, on my personal computer?
In my case I'm glad to give you some information about myself freely. Furthermore, you may use that information if it helps you in some way. However, I won't change Internet Explorer's default security settings for your products.
This is unacceptable.
Like others, I will not reduce security settings to unsafe levels for downloaders or installers. (Any installer instruction to disable AV software gets run anyway with AV on or ditched.)
There is something very weird about the series of links to trial downloads. The effects vary according to browser, at least in my Win7 Ultimate, 64-bit setup.
IE8 simply refuses to do anything.
Firefox is more interesting, it reports a "redirect loop" which leads to what programmers will recognise as running out of stack space.
Opera reports that the page can't be found, perhaps it has been moved.
Without the help of the direct download links kindly provided by non-Adobe sources, I would not have purchased LR3. Ok, Adobe won't lose sleep over one lost sale, but I can't be the only one.
As for download managers increasing download speeds well, just maybe. 7Zip is quite effective compression, the bytes have to be shifted. The limit will always be the narrowest bandwidth-user product in the chain. No download manager can defeat that.
Adobe have no way of knowing where the bottleneck is for a particular user unless they know that the server bandwidth is too small for the modal number of users. In that case, Akami is just providing more server bandwidth.
For reference, with a UK 20Mbit/sec cable connection here, the bottleneck is almost always somewhere else. Notable exceptions are MS (amazing!) and some others including Cyberlink (an Adobe competitor), where download speeds approach the theoretical maximum of 2.1Mbytes/sec.
With the UK feeble ADSL average of around 3Mbit/sec, the bottleneck is almost always the local connection.
If Adobe don't want private customers to download trials, let them say so and take the sales hit.
Adobe products cost serious money (even if you thinks that they represent good value for money). For amateurs and professionals alike, the trials are essential to making decisions about purchase and/or upgrade.
Amateurs are likely to be downloading single trials (say up to 2GB) and know that patience will be required.
Professionals and companies will be able to download large trial overnight or in other ways that do not interfere with regular work. The arguments put forward for using download managers are spurious.
Adobe have made a strategic mistake, as some are beginning to acknowledge. The fact that there is active discussion means that we want Adobe to fix the problem; we don't want to abandon good software.
Hello,
Can you please list the direct download for CS5 master Collection trial... Acrobat 9 pro extended Trial.... Flash Builder V4 Trial...
Thanks...![]()
If I had the links I would send them to you! I had such a problem trying to download a trial version of Photoshop Elements to try.... I don't have any direct download links. Although I wish Adobe would actually have them.

Hi Ken,
in answer to the direct links for Photoshop Elements...

http://trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PRE/PremiereElements_8_Content_L S8.exe
http://trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PRE/PremiereElements_8_Content_L S8.7z

Thanks so much.

..these are not the right links for photoshop elements, it even says in the link itself that these are the "...PremiereElements_8...".
if you look at the end you can find out the languages, i think those go from LS1 to LS8.
so ken if you can see my blog http://technolux.blogspot.com/ you will find the links for elements 8 for photoshop...

Woopsy....
The Photoshop element 8 for windows is as follows
www.trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PSE/PhotoshopElements_8_MUL.exe
www.trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PSE/PhotoshopElements_8_MUL.7z
Try those Ken
Thanks.
This much trouble. I get the feeling that Adobe doesn't really want people to
try out their trial products.
Does anyone else get this feeling? Perhaps the whole "trail" for them is a ruse?
It seems reasonable that a company attempting to generate interest in their
products would make it easy for people to download.
First, Adobe asks me to change my personal security setting for their download
app, or whatever (I can't remember), now, we struggle to find the actually
download links.
What are you doing Adobe?
Ken
Sorry, I can't access your site from this computer....
Can you please send me the links to CS5 master collection in an email.... jeremyfisk@clear.net.nz
and CS4 master collection if it is on the Adobe website as well....
Thanks
jem
then go to a computer where you can access the site..
also you can check their ftp server for everything as far back as cs2 i
think, ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/
here is the google cache link to my blog entry with all the links:
if you can't access that go to an internet cafe, or switch computer or
have a word with your admin, no idea why you can't access google's own
blogger platform blogspot but the adobe site is accessable fine...
let links to cs5 master collection are given by adobe itself in the
pop-up, it asks you if you like to use akami or use the direct download
links, simply hit the dlls and you will be fine..

Ken,
have you actually been to my blog and tried the download links there?
What seems to be your problem here? Let's not make things too
complicated shall we?
You are trying to get a trial product from Adobe, fine. So Adobe is so
nice to have all their trials on their servers available all the time,
perhaps not that visible to the public but they are all there and have
been there for years and will be there for years to come.
All you got to do is find the links you like, hit them up and start
downloading. I am not sure if you have been to my blog but if for some
reason you don't like to go there you can simply key in google with
"direct download links adobe" or "direct download links photoshop
elements" and so on and you will be presented with a lof of site and
options to download from.
On my blog I complied all those results plus I did find out a few links
myself and posted them up in one huge post. So really all you got to do
is go here: http://technolux.blogspot.com/ and select the download that
you like to have.
Make sure you are logged into you Adobe account and that you have
visited one of the trial download pages. This needs to be done so that
Adobe can set a session cookie on your machine that will allow you to
access the trial downloads without using the Akami download manager.
Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements and a whole lot of other trials
are all posted there since April 1st and no this is no joke, they really
are there just a few clicks away from you. Mind you, you don't even have
to change any settings or lower your security or any of all that. So all
really easy from my point of view.
I hope this helps you get what you want from Adobe, available in many
various languages as well if you are looking for trials in another
language then English for example and if you have more questions let me
know.

Let me make it a little more clear.
I've been working with large internet systems with large Internet companies for
years now. I'm a professional who creates, maintains and facilitates processes
that move code from staging servers, onto the net. This requires knowledge, in
my case, of various Unix type systems, and some programming/networking
knowledge. It's not the most glamorous position in tech (being a Release
Engineer), but I like it for many reasons. One of those if the breath of various
systems I get to work with.
Technolux, what I'm trying to say is this. I know how complex processes on the
net should work, it's my job. Although the complex processes I'm involved with
you will hopefully never notice, because if you do, things break.
What Adobe has is a broken download process. If a person with my kind of
knowledge has any problems with the download process, which I've done from
thousands of sites over the years, than someone with somewhat less knowledge
about computers than I might have more of a problem than I did.
That any Net user has any problems downloading trial software from an Internet
company as large and influential as Adobe; if Adobe they can't do the focus
groups needed, or hire the correct web designers, developers, network staff, and
database programmers, etc, etc, there's a problem.
There's a problem with Adobe's trial download process.
This is why you have all the direct links on your blog, Technolux, no?
So, that's it for me.
