PDF Library failed to initialize

Running CS4 in Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on a MacBook Pro. All of a sudden I can't create or place pdfs, altho' I can still read them.

 

I'm getting the error message 'PDF library failed to initialize.' I've searched the web and the Adobe site with very few returns. Please help...I really need this capability.

    Has anyone been able to solve this?  I just had the same problem.

    And me. InDesign CS4 has suddenly developed a problem placing .ai and .eps files. With .ai, I get the PDF Library failed to initialize message, or a crash. With .eps, I just get a crash. But Photoshops place without a problem.

    Is this in Acrobat or one of the other CS4 applications. If one of the other applications, please repost your question in that application's forum.

    A double restart seems to have fixed this problem. And sorry, should have been in InDesign but i found it here first. Best wishes. T

    Hold down the shift key when placing the PD into ID - works then

    I have the same problem with Adobe InDesign CS 4 running OS X.6.8; Did you find an issue ?
