Adobe Flash Player 10: An ActionScript error has occurred?

Whenever I browse the web with Firefix, I get this sort of error message if the site uses Flash:

 

Adobe Flash Player 10

 

An ActionScript error has occurred:

 

Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://content.openforum.com/membersproject/getContentList.jsp?numitem s=3&pillar=CAUSES
    at dtas.mp.polite::Politeness/dataLoaded()
    at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
    at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
    at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()

 

This only started happening when I upgraded to CS4 Professional. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    that's probably a cross-domain security issue.  use a policy file(s).

    Thanks for the quick reply, but that makes absolustely no sense to me. I'm just a Web Designer. Could you be more specific?

     

    If you are stating that it's a security issue, then why did it only start *after* I upgraded to CS4? That's what confuses me.

    because you're publishing for fp 10 and that has stricter security restrictions.

     

    are your html and swf in one domain and you're trying to load data from another domain?  if yes, you have a security sandbox issue.

     

    read my post above to remedy or publish for fp 8 or earlier.

    But I'm personally not using FP10 at all. I don't do any development in it, as I just use Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Acrobat Pro as of now. I'm just browsing sites like Yahoo, MSNBC and others when those errors appear.

     

    I obviously cannot tell those websites what to do on their sites, so those errors continue to appear.

     

    If that's the case, then I believe that's a very poor product feature of FP10.

    what flash player version are you publishing for?

    I'm not publishing with Flash at all...never have.

     

    I do have Flash CS4 Professional installed on my computer, but that's it. I've never even opened it. I only get those errors when browsing other sites.

    then the author of the site you're surfing screwed up.

    That's too bad, because Yahoo, MSNBC, and several others get that error. What a pain.

    you're welcome.

     

    you can also change your flash player if you don't want to see flash error messages.  just get a non-debug player.

    first go here and check if you have the debug player:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

     

    if yes, you can download from here:  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

     

    (be sure to untick that mcafee garbage.)
