Photo date from Canon CRII to Jpeg

When I edit Canon Raw II photos in Photoshop Elements 8, the program replaces the Meta File information about Date Taken with the date when

the Jpeg file was created.

 

This is a big problem in law enforcement photography.

 

Is there a solution?

Operating System: Windows XP

    CR2 images usually open in Adobe Camera Raw and then PSE when you click open.

     

    To preserve original metadata use the Save As or Save command; not Save for Web.

    Ideally there should be no change in the raw file. You can report this issue to Adobe through wishforum.
