Unable to install

May 6, 2010 1:33 AM

Hi,

I just tried to install the Tool in Galileo. The installation fails with this error:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

Software currently installed: Adobe Component Development Tool 9.5.0 (com.adobe.livecycle.cde.feature.group 9.5.0)

Missing requirement: Dsc Plug-in 9.5.0.v201005040303 (com.adobe.livecycle.workbench.dsc 9.5.0.v201005040303) requires 'bundle org.mortbay.jetty 5.1.14' but it could not be found

  Cannot satisfy dependency:

From: Adobe Component Development Tool 9.5.0 (com.adobe.livecycle.cde.feature.group 9.5.0)

    To: com.adobe.livecycle.workbench.dsc [9.5.0.v201005040303]

Any advice?
Thanks and regards,
Lars

Thanks for cheking it out. We have seen this dependency problem before. If you install WTP in your Eclipse environment, that should fix it I believe. There are config instructions for Ecliplse 3.4 users on the configuration details page.

    Hi Lars,

We found that the jetty plug in seems to get included as a result of installing, GEF, EMF and WTP on a standard Ecliplse. While it works for some, others have started reporting the same missing dependency error that you are finding too.

So we are going to stage a new build of the tool (within a day or so) that does not have any dependency on Jetty or even WTP. These were actually atrifacts from the orginal envornment we used to build & test the Plug-in. They are not actually needed at run time for this distribution. Thanks for reporting the install problem and we hope that you can try out the new drop once I announce it on the Forum.

    Stay tuned.

    Gary.

Thanks for letting us know. Please make sure that your JAVA_HOME is set if JDK1.6 and even running a 'java -version" test on your Windows command line uses the JDK1.6 /bin directory set in your PATH. Also make sure that your default JRE in Eclipse is pointing to JDK 1.6. I hope that helps.

    Gary.
