When I copy (or cut) and paste an audio clip to a new project timeline the sound is fine but after I save the project I see the video and the sound file but no sound. The sound file still plays in Soundbooth but not on the project timeline. I tried rendering the clip but no lucki. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
These are the files properties:
File Path: C:\Heritage\Aftergut\Movie\Untitled Clip 02 Audio Extracted_1
Type: Windows WAVE audio file
File Size: 514.2 MB
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
Total Duration: 00:46:48:19468
Average Data Rate: 187 KB / second
Thank you Bill. I tried pressing the m key but no luck. What exactly is "Match Frame"? I looked it up on the online help but it wasn't very clear. Should I press "M" at any point on the time line or at a specific place. Any othe ideas would help me out of a jam
Again thank you for your help

This can certainly happen. When it does, use the Match Frame (M key in CS4, IIRC) to get the Audio back.
Good luck,

Match Frame "matches" the Clip in the Timeline with the original source file, referenced in the PRPROJ Project file. That file is linked to the Project, and the Match Frame will make any corrections necessary.
Let's step though the process: first, Select the Clip, and then move the CTI (Current Time Indicator w/ the red Edit Line) to that Clip (these steps are important), and then hit the M key. That should recover both your Audio and your Waveform Display.
Good luck,
Hunt
Hi Bill,
I carried out your instructions to the letter but still not working. I pasted the clip to the new project timeline . It plays perfectly however when I save the project, close and reopen the sound is lost. "M" and "control m" have no effect. Very frustrating. Is there another fix or am I the only one to have this problem?
Your help is much appreciated

Stanely,
One thought - have you remapped your keyboard?
Also, and a CS5 user will have to step in here, it could be that Match Frame has changed. It did between PrPro 2.0 and CS3/CS4, so it is possible. In the CS5 Help file, what is shown for the keystroke?
Last, are you Targeting your Audio Track, Selecting the Audio, moving the CTI over it, and then pressing M?
Just thinking there, and good luck,
Hunt
Hi Bill,
I haven't remapped the keyboard. In the CS4 (which I am using) help shows "M" as the key for Match Frame. Also I am targetingthe audio track and moving the CTI over it and pressing "M" as you suggest but no luck.
I guess I will just have to find another work method to complete my project but I really thank you for your efforts on my behalf
Regards

And, are you also Selecting that Audio Clip? If muxed, you will want to Alt+click on it to Select it.
Sorry about the version confusion. Not sure why I thought you were on CS5 - my bad, and thanks for pointing that out to me.
Good luck,
Hunt
Stll no luck. But thanks for trying

Stanley,
You are most welcome, but other than keyboard re-mapping, I just cannot think of a reason that it is not working for you, when you have satisfied those few criteria.
Good luck, and maybe someone else has a useful tip for you. Going back some years, I posted the same for PrPro 2.0. For me, the Match Frame was T. That changed with about CS3.

Thank you but just ine more question. What do you mean about keyboard remapping? Is it possible my "M" key is not working> If so how does one "fix" it?
