Contribute CS5 - won't connect to SFTP

I just installed Contribute CS5 (haven't tried it for ages) and tried creating a new SFTP connection. Although all access data is correct (checked via FTP client), I keep getting this error:

 

Your Secure FTP (SFTP) username or password is incorrect. Please check your connection information or contact your administrator.

 

Funny thing is, the error appears almost instantaneously (checked, not blocked by firewall). What gives?!

    Can you please let us know the SFTP server you used? Also can you please check the same in any other machine?

    I've sent you a PM regarding the server. If you need access, it'd be trickier, since I'm not the server admin ...

     

    I tried accesing it from another machine, but Contribut won't budge, same error.

    If you are using ESET NOD32 here is the solution:

     

  • ~ Open NOD in "entire advanced setup tree"

  • ~ Navigate to "Web access protection" - "Web browsers"
  • ~ In the list of apps locate the box for the Contribue.exe
  • ~ Uncheck the box
  • ~ Create a new connection in CS5

  • After a half a day screwing around with this and several calls to Adobe support, who were no help, I found the solution over on the DW forum.

    Thanks, but I'm not using NOD (I'm on a Mac)

    I just ugraded to cs5 and have had numerous porblems is editing my web page. One page will not make a draft and I get error message " an unknow error occurred in the contribute file state manger". ON other pages  a draft is produced and notified that changes are published but the change does not appera on website. Any suggestions on how to resolve these problems.
