How about being a nice person and being very specific on exactly what these "old macromedia prefs" are named and where they reside?

    Your user folder/Library/Preferences/Macromedia:

With the latest Flashplayer installed I found it it safe to delete the "macromedia" folder in your user's preferences completely. I will be re-created the next time you launch the Extension Manager CS4. (In case something goes wrong, you can get it back it with Timemachine).

Then the Flashplayer works and the Extension Manager works too (at least on my computer).

I am having the same problem, I get the EM in the menu bar at the top but when I try to open it nothing happens I tried going into the extensions manager2 [ users/username/library/application support/adobe/extension manager2/configuration/extensions] I drag and droped the .mxp file in there and restarted DW and still nothing ? The EM was working fine until I tried to download a patch for it.Being new to computers in general I thought this would update my EM lol omg I really need to fix this problem. It would be nice to be able to install my plug-ins. please help!!

I was having some issues with Extension Manager and I fixed it by resetting the Extension Manager Preferences XML file.

On a Windows PC the file is located here:

    Docs & Settings\(Your User Name)\Application Data\Adobe\Extension Manager2\Configuration\Extensions\exman_uiPreferences.xml

Once I deleted that file, Extension Manager worked with out any problems.

    Hi Guys,

There is an Extension Manager forum in

    http://forums.adobe.com/community/creativesuites/extensionmanager

You can post your questions related with Extension Manager there.

I seem to remember that it doesn't work with the demo version of the software. And CS4 demo software is probably not supported. Might want to try the CS5 demos.
