There are a variety of log files that can help diagnose problems with Catalyst. Exactly which log is most helpful depends on what type of problem you're dealing with. Here are the locations of some of the most common logs.
If Catalyst was running just fine, and then something happened, most likely we'll want this log.
/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash Catalyst/Workspace/.metadata/.log
By default, the finder does not display files / folders that begin with a '.' You can open the terminal and copy-paste the following line:
which will copy the file to a file named "log" on your desktop. cp /Users/[your username here]/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Flash\ Catalyst/Workspace/.metadata/.log ~/Desktop/log
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Catalyst\workspace\.metadata\.log
Various logs are created on Catalyst startup. The one we most frequently are interested in is amt.log
/private/tmp/[log].log C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\[log].log
If you are having trouble installing Catalyst, then we'll probably need to look at the logs created at install time. Those are located here
