This is my first go at Encore with this project.
I already created a movie, and a menu in encore.
The idea of the client is to have a dvd that plays the regular dvd menu when poped into a dvd player and have the same dvd to display a pdf product catalogue when inserted into a PC.
I imagine theres some sort of a template to choose from when starting encore new project that has a mixed content?
how does that work?
Can you please tell me how to do that?
It can be really simple, no fancy stuff.
Im own CS4 Master Collection, have good knowledge over flash, premiere,PS, AE but no html.
I just need to know what Im looking for, give me some terms like... dunno mixed DVD? eDVD?
perhaps i could look up for some tutorials on how to do that. Just need some naming on how to adress that idea
(English is not my native, so I lack the pro vocabulary)
>template to choose from when starting encore new project that has a mixed content?
No... computer content is not part of the DVD specification, so that is not included in Encore
One of these products MAY work to do what you want... but I have never used them, so do not know myself
Use Encore and http://www.intellidisc.com/ for a "movie" DVD which has computer content,
or use Macromedia Director http://www.adobe.com/products/director/ by itself
Or use Sony DVD Studio http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/dvdastudio
Thanks for the tips!
However I already figured out that I can do all of that using Encore, Flash and some easy batch file programming.
First and foremost I created a flash movie with two buttons, that utilise the "fscommand" to execute two batch files.
First Batch file runs the pdf file, second one plays the dvd movie. Its all quite easy to program, look up Batch files commands on google.
Then I published my flash movie as a projector *.exe file.
I created autorun.ini and autorun.bat and again used some batch file syntax to make the autorun run my flash movie exe file.
Encore has this cool feature called DVD ROM CONTENT. its under Build Tab / Disc Info.
From there I just show him where to look for a folder containing all the PC data I wanted to have on my DVD.
Ive tested it on several PCs in the office and it works like a charm.
No extra software needed!
Hope that helps everyone else that tried to do that with pure Adobe software.
