Pencil tool / edit selected paths

Jun 29, 2010 10:43 AM

I love the "edit selected paths" option with the pencil tool in Ai CS5, but I also want to turn it off temporarily when I'm drawing a new path close to the last one. Now I always have to go to Pencil Tool Options and check/uncheck the "Edit selected paths" option. Is it possible to have a shortcut to this action? Or wouldn't you also prefer a modifier key? Wadya think?

You know something I think that though this probably has annoyed everyone including myself and that in spite of the fact that it is so annoying
no one has probably ever made a feature request for such a toggle. The issue has come up hear once in a while like once every two or three years.

BTW there is no way to do this unless it can be scripted, which would be the solution. I believe it should be possible to script however Illy does not offer a way to assign a keyboard shortcut to a script. There was a time when you could. Which is something that has been requested.

You have my vote for this.

    To make the request
