I've been trying this for a while and still can't figure it out. Some people say you just add the fonts to the main computer fonts. Well all the fonts in my photoshop are default and do not contain any of the fonts from my computer and softwares like OpenOffice and such. The fonts I did upload on my computers fonts did appear in OpenOffice. But Photoshop still has the default fonts like Angsana New, FreesiaUPC, and Simsun. Are those even fonts?! The all look the same! Photoshop doesn't contain anything like Comic Sans MS, Arial, and Courier New compared to my other softwares. Please help and thank you!

Photoshop uses the fonts on your computer.   Pushing the "T" box brings up the font, font size, etc options above

your picture.   Are you using the dropdown box to choose the font??

PSE8 does have fonts for Comic Sans MS, Arial, and Courier New.

Try opening a photo in the PSE Editor and then click on T for the text tool.

Then click on the photo to create a text layer.

Use the drop down menu (top left) to choose a font.
