I'm having the same issue, whether I use the Adobe Updater application or I download the update from Adobe's site.

I ran the AdobeSupportAdvisor and it said it found no problems. Is there a log file I can manually look at to see what it says?

Thanks.  I must have found the wrong log.

But I am having an issue with Illustrator updating via Adobe Application Manager. 

Where can I find the log that might indicate what the problem is?

Thanks.  I don't have any logs for Illustrator in that folder, but I am getting the update failure in Adobe Application Manager.  I've attached the error message screen.

OK.  I was using the library folder inside the user account rather than the boot volume.  Sorry.

I had exactly the same problem this morning trying to update to Illustrator 15.0.1 from Design Premium using OSX 10.6.4 .  This is also the first time I have ever had an Adobe update fail. 

Following the advice to uninstall and reinstall and the update has worked perfectly.

I suggest you follow Anirudh's advice.  Uninstall and reinstall took me about 15 minutes.  Updating to 15.0.1 went through easily after that.

I am no expert and found this a very straightforward solution.

For Mac OS, start by looking in /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers find the newest .gz file double click to expand.

Look inside for errors, for me it was this:

Looking at your log it looks like the only things it's unhappy about is a missing Norwegian localization file for the PDF plugin... I say just give it a dummy file, unless you actaully need Norwegian?

In Terminal, must be admin:

touch "/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS5/Adobe Illustrator.app/Required/Plug-ins/PDF Suite.aip/Contents/Resources/no.lproj/InfoPlist.strings"

That will give it a 0 byte file of that name, might be happy after that? This patcher needs a more graceful error handling routine.

Confirned!! Restoring "Adobe Illustrator CS5.app" from Time Machine to its previous state -before I deleted the language files from it- allows a smooth update.

I had previously used XSlimmer on my Mac to delete unnecessary binaries and languages, which turned out was the problem for Illustrator. Thankfully, XSlimmer has the option to make backups of what you slim, and I did that when I ran it. So I just used XSlimmer to restore the application, ran the updater, and all is well!

I have CleanApp but never used to remove language lproj folders. I also have monolingual but I excluded all Adobe and MS Office products from removing lproj folder. My log below indicates Dependency Subscribers Error, but nothing else.  Please help. No. I never moved the app. I ended up uninstall/reinstall IL, and 3-rd party pluins. Took half hours.
