So what are you saying? That you can use black magic and A FLME with a whitebox you built and not an OEM one?
ARE you really able to stream 1080i video to a Flash server for 10 mins and have zero problems?
Not sure what you mean with whitebox and a Flash server but if you mean a PC I built and run on OSX yes I can stream 1080i 50 video and pretty good stereo sound Mp3 224 Kbps 44100 Hz to Justin tv or Blog tv with as high a bandwith my intenetconnection and their servers let me. The settings I use (but that might differ depending what gear you have) are VP6 (which seems to work best) Framerate = 25 - 30 fps, inputsize = 720*480, output size = 720*404 and Bit rate = 500 - 1000 Kbps (framerate and Bit rate depending on server load that specific day). This gives me the best "full/widescreen" you can get on JTV which in itself is way to small but still the best/widest that´s out there (Blog vt and Ustream are limited to 320*240). It does´nt give me HQ full screen video though but if you have a good videocard and a good monitor it´s kind of ok even in fullscreen. I`m using the Gigabyte EP45-DS3 and a Q6600 cpu in that computer and the GA EP45-DS3 is listed as supported on the Black Magic site so that might help.
Instead of starting another thread I'll post here. I've been using the BM Intensity Pro card for awhile for game streaming. I was using it on a windows machine with FME version 2.5, which required me to downconvert the signal to SD and use my soundcard for audio. Everything worked well I recently upgraded my computer to a new Mac Pro, I was happy to find FME 3.0 for Mac allowed me to not only capture via the BM in HD but also capture the audio via HDMI. Everything seems fine except one major issue, audio sync. Now part of my issue might be ustream.tv, after a few minutes I start getting dome frame drops and this is when the audio goes out of sync, it seem the video drops but the audio does not. However the strange thing is the same exact settings when streaming ti Justin.tv I don't get any frame drops. Now I can deal with frame drops as I've been able to stream a solid 59-60 fps and a frame drop or two here and there which is happening is ok. But the audio sync is a major issue. I've also tried to use the soundcard audio input but that doesn't help. Using wirecast or the various streamign site software, I've tried Ustream producer and even tried Livestream, does not have audio sync problems.
Anyway I got a feeling there is an issue with FME and my guess would be that when frame drops occur it's only happening to the video and not the audio.
I stream to justin.tv running Snow Leo 10.6.4 and I get audio synch probs if I use Camtwist in combination with FMLE3.1 as soon as I involve pip cams or Camtwists more "heavy" effects. Does´nt matter if my DVD or VCR or HD cam is hooked up to my BM card or my cheap usb capture card, without pip cams or heavy effects both work good. I don´t know if I got it right but I think you say you use wirecast in combination with FMLE and if you use effects or etc etc you can do with it maby something like this happens for you too. Try use only FMLE see what happens. 25-30 fps should be enough.
To get "wide" screen on JTV I use 720*480 in and 720*404 out and set sound to 44100 which is the highest for FMLE. BM is 48000 only you might get a conflict there.
When I use wriecast I'm strictly using wirecast to stream, not wirecast and FME. And it doesn't seem to happen with JTV just ustream. I've tried 30 fps and actually seem to run into more drop frame issues at 30 fps then I do at 60 fps. When I stream my desktop is strictly streaming and I use my laptop to monitor, and everything runs real smooth, and looks great, but I'll start showing frame drops in FME Output and thats when the audio goes out of sync. However I don't really notice it in the stream, more then likely due to the high frame rate, so my feeling is FME drops video frames but isn't dropping audio frames.
Could you please share the session log and the screen shot of the frame drops window?
And make sure that you select the correct fps in FMLE. If you are using a PAL camera, you must select only 25 fps otherwise you are bound to hit sync problems.
Basically, there should not be any mismatch in the fps given by the device and FMLE.
I discovered a workaround for the FMLE and BMIP compatibility problems, but it involves running an intermediary program between the BMIP and FMLE. The good news is that the intermediary program also allows you to do effects and PiP.
I originally geared it to video game broadcasting, but it should with with anything else.
It is outlined in detail here, http://swiftor.com/f20/tutorial-broadcasting-black-magic-intensity-pro -hdmi-9845/
A few requirements though:
VH Multicam Studios (the intermediary program) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X5BVJ6G8 The original link on the developer's site got taken down because he is working on an updated version, but it is still very beta.
Also, VH Multicam can't control the blackmagic card's resolution remotely, just like FMLE can't, but if you change the settings in Media Express and then go back to VH Multicam, the settings should be updated. This works with the old 1.xx media express, but I have yet to figure out how to get it to work with the latest 2.xx media express which has officially replaced 1.xx in the latest firmwares, but if you start at firmware 3.4, setup your resolution and frame rate in Media Express and then update to the latest firmware, you shouldn't have any problems unless you need to change your source resolution for the card.
BMIP Version 3.4: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BKCSFVEC
I also created a video tutorial, its a little long but I take you step by step in setting it up the way I have it now.
I can't select the 50 FPS in Flash Media Live Encoder but my camera connected to the Black Magic Intensity Pro ist only working with that.
I installed it on a MacPro cause the Card won't work on Windows 7 64Bit. Any Ideas?
I was wondering if any of you guys using BMD Intensity pro could help me with my current issue regarding the capturing process using composite with the S-video adapter. At one time I did in fact see this working properly. I had to format the drive since then. But as far as I can tell, everything is up to date. I even tried previous versions of the firmware etc etc. I'm not sure how to redirect you to the forum post. But I only have 2 posts so maybe clicking my username will lead you to it. I have included screen shots as well.
Thanx in advance.
