No Preview in Bridge?

Hello,

 

I did some test with Alfresco and it works fine except that I do not have previews of the files thatttt are chedcked in.   I tried several format (.jpg, .psd, .indd, .ai, ...)with all the same issue.

 

Do you have feedback on this?

    Preview icon and thumnail are not supported in this version of Drive CMIS connector. You can see this information in CMIS connector tech note.

     

    There are several reasons that this is not supported. First, current Alfresco CMIS server has limitted support to rendition. For example, psd, indd, ai are all not supported. Second, CMIS 1.0's support to rendition is also limitted. There are also ohter considerations. Anyway, we will consider this feature in future release.

    Hello,

     

    Thanks for the answer.  `

    I was wandering why alfresco should render the files has the preview is stored in the header of the file?  Why does bridge has no access to this preview?

    I would like to reinforce the necessity to have this feature that is just mandatory for our customers.

    Denis,

    The current behavior of Bridge is:

    • For a local file, Bridge will try to read its content to get preview data.
    • When browsing files through extensions (Adobe Drive and CMIS connector are extensions of Bridge), it will not read the file's content, instead, it will retrieve the preview data from server.

     

    Simply say, whether or not to read preview data directly from file is not controlled by Adobe Drive connectors.

    Hello,

     

    Guo Wei wrote, that you will consider this feature in future release.

    Are there any new plans when you will implement this feature.

     

    The latest build 'Drive 2.2 x110 build' still don't have this feature.

    Hi Snap-OM,

     

    We didn't implement the CMIS server preview support in AD 2.2 release, because it heavily depends on the renditions implementation by each CMIS server. We always keep the eye on the rendition support in Alfresco and other CMIS servers.

    Hi Zhiqiang,

     

    Alfresco is the system we are working with.

     

    So do you have a schedule when you will implement it?

    As far as I know the Alfresco CMIS implementation would support this feature.

    So you mean that the preview support for CMIS Server in Adobe Drive 3, right? We didn't support preview for CMIS Server in AD3.

    Can you please provide a list of servers where the preview is possible? Are any of them Open Source, or are they all super expensive software? I've tried a couple different CMIS software, including Alfresco 4 and Nuxeo, with no success so far regarding preview ... Even though VersionCue was not that good, one could at least preview the content.

    Adobe Drive doesn't support preview for CMIS server, I suggest you to try CQ DAM service provided by Day software using built-in ADEP connector, thanks
