No favorites in save dialog box

This is major irritation when you have to drill down through different servers/directories all the time when saving different files.  The "recent" folder does an ok job but you still have to search through the contents to find the directory you need...and isn't always there.

 

I'm wondering why Adobe did away with the ability to setup favorites in this dialog box.  What gives?  Might have seemed trivial but it's important when in a production environment as seconds matter a great deal.

 

Any clues or suggestions?

    I can save and use favourites on the Open dialog by clicking the folder icon (see attached iamge). You can also use Bridge to organize favourites.

    yes, but that's not available in the save dialog which is the OP's problem(and mine too)

    Exactly...it's the save dialog box that is the issue.

    Ah, yes, saving to a favourite location. Oops.

     

    But I do recall a posting where you can do some Windows gymnastics to add to the list of locations on the left side of the save dialog.

    Was this ever resolved? I have the same issue and hate it. I have deep directories and have to manually navigate often to these directories during saving. It's true for ALL Adobe cs4 products and not true for ANY Microsoft Office products (see below). Is there a plugin/preference/system tool or other method where by my regularly used Win Explorer shortcuts (using Win 7), will display in the Save As dialog box?

    If you mean PS CS4 using Libraries and the shortcut folders in windows 7 the answer is no. I could never get CS4 to play with them and I don't think anybody else has.

    The registry edit described in the link above from Zeno Bokor works great and I now have the Favorites folder in my Adobe File Dialog Box (for Open and Save)!

     

    Be aware that these instructions will replace ALL of the folders shown in the File Dialog Box with up to 5 of your choosing, so you probably want to pick out some other folders that you'd like to show along with the Favorites folder.  The instructions list some of the predefined folders you can add back, e.g. MyComputer, MyDocuments, etc., so it's no problem to get the ones you want.  I used MyFavorites, D:\, MyNetworkPlaces, and a network share folder.

     

    Thanks - no more drilling through folders!
