Captivate 4 cp. file won't Preview

Sep 1, 2010 4:21 PM

Opened up a .cp file from my hard drive and can't get any of the preview functions to work (except the single slide playback).   It appears to load the slides, does not appear to load any of the voiceovertext audio (Kate and Paul), then simply does nothing more.   How can I fix this?

I have this issue as well. Just started yesterday. In my case the progress bar that indicates the preview is being built goes by very quickly. It goes about an 1/8 of the way, and then that window disappears. After that nothing further happens.

This affected the training projects and appears to be working with what I create today.

Exact same issue for me.  When I try to publish the SWF file, it only progresses a sliver and then just sits there.  When I try to preview, the "generating slides" flashes on screen for a split second then nothing happens.

    Solutions????

    Hello,

Try to recreate the prefernces for Captivate 4

Here are the steps that you can try

    1. Close Adobe Captivate.
    2. Locate the preference file:
      • Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Captivate\Adobe Captivate_v40.dat
      • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate\Adobe Captivate_v40.dat
    3. Rename the preference file, for example OLDAdobe Captivate_v40.dat.
    4. Restart Adobe Captivate. A new preference file is automatically created.

Then observe, that you are facing the same issue or not

Here is the URL for Captivate Unexpected behavior as well

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/883/cpsid_88360.html

    Hope it helps!!!

I can give it a shot.  However, I don't know if it is just my preferences as the file behaves the same on two other machines (two run Vista, one runs Windows 7).  Tried creating another project from a powerpoint and it publishes just fine.
