'Export for Digital Editions' not available from File Menu

Sep 3, 2010 10:00 AM

I've spent ages looking around help screens & forums here and I see that other people are having problems with epub files created from 'Export for Digital Editions' (so it must be possible to make an epub file), but I can't even access this option as it is greyed out from my File menu.  I have InDesign CS4 6.0.5 installed on my PC with Windows XP op sys.

I have installed Adobe's free Digital Editions software (although I have other software for reading ePubs, eg. from my Sony Reader), but that made no difference. With my InDesign document open the above option just is not available to me & nowhere I can find on this site suggests how I can make it available.

Hopefully it is something obvious to others, but I'm afraid I do not find InDesign to be intuitive.  I'd be grateful for any help in getting this to work.

Sylvia

There has been a previous case on here where replacing preferences helped in a case like this.

Since it's visible (but not selectable) in your menu, it's not the case described in here?

(where the issue seems to be InDesign has to be installed on a C drive....)
