Dreamweaver + Twitter + Facebook & Social Media

Sep 15, 2010 6:51 PM

Greetings!

I am currently putting together a "Social Media Dashboard" in a similar vein to what NPR has done (but on a smaller scale). Here is a link to NPR's work: http://www.npr.org/templates/community/

I have customized a Twitter widget and Facebook plug-in for the page but, ahhhhhh, I can't get Dreamweaver to align the widgets. Ideally, I would like the Facebook and Twitter widget side by side but can only get them to appear on the page under each other. Here is a link to the page (not public). http://www.circle.org/?page=socialmedia.

I am somewhat new to Dreamweaver and am using an older version at work (cs3). Any and all help and suggestions are welcome and appreciated!!!

Have you tried putting the widgets inside a table? I think it would be the easiest way if all you want to do is put them side to side...

I would use divs creating a rt-hand column.

The first would hold the Facebook iFrane - give the box a width of maybe 300 and float it right.

The next is for the Twiiter wiggie - all you have to do with that one is specify a right margin, maybe 300 again or a little more,

Just tweak these values until it looks right.

You could even wrap both of these in another div container with an absolute width for more control, but I don't think that's required. And if I'm not mistaken, this is the classic faux-column technique?
