Hey,
I'm trying to import a MS Word document that contains inline images to InDesign CS5.
I tried File->Place with checking "Import Inline Graphics" but unfortunately it imports the document without the images, there are blank regions where the images are suppose to be.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Kathy
I did not create those documents myself, so I'm not sure how the images got there.
If I create my own document and put the images using Insert or C/P, it works well.
The problem with export to a web page and saving the images to files is that these documents are quite large, so manually inserting and placing the images will be a tremendous amount of work.
I do not have problem to import MS Word images, problem is when importing charts in docx format. My problem is because whatever I do to center images, basicaly to wrap text in MS Word, images appears in InDesign on the left side, left aligned. Only way to center images on page is to cut, paste and then center image with InDesign Align panel. Another way I know is to work with anchored object (right click > anchored objects) and thats what I do not like. Anyway is there any script or option to select all images imported with Word file in Indesign and center them (align and wrap). Why to insert images in Word? Because I need them, I am writing tutorials and software how-tos, books.
Yes, aligning image on its own paragraph works, I will skip wraping text inside paragraph, this can be done inside InDesign. Here is one part of Internet PDF books I am talking about, both are in Serbian http://issuu.com/bojan_zivkovic/docs/prikazivanje_slika_u_adobe_photos hop_elements - word + indesign, http://www.scribd.com/doc/49583823/Nau%C4%8Dite-Adobe-Photoshop - indesign only
Basicaly I am writing tutorials then turn them into PDF books, for now.
Thank you, I never try to insert image on its own paragraph.
