Displaying focus points in LR3

Oct 12, 2010 9:51 AM

Hi all

Is it possible to display focus points in Lightroom? I switched to Lightroom from Aperture, which used to let me do this, so I guess the information must be stored in the EXIF data somewhere.

Many thanks

Not with Lightroom proper, but a third party developer is working on a Lightroom plug-in that it's hoped will worked. I'm fairly sure it's not yet freely available.

The focus points are in the metadata, and can be made available in Lightroom via ExifMeta. You will have to learn where AF-point "C6" lies on your photos, by comparing metadata with focus point display using your camera software, until you make a cheat sheet or memorize it. But, it may be good enough until the super-groovy AF point displayer plugin is ready...

As a fellow "defector" from Aperture, I really miss the "show me the active focus point" feature.
